Crash at Grand Prix of Houston sends fence debris flying into crowd, 13 injured

They need to get better barriers at these events, like huge, 6" plexiglass walls or something, sheesh

Heard Franchitti has fractured foot two broken vertebrae and concussion, but will be okay.
Unfortunately a plexiglass plates of 6" would not be affordable, They have always been thinking of new designs for catch fencing but can not find a logical answer. Until then, we will continue to see cheese grating crashes with shards going into the crowd. In this case, a shell assembly is punted along with a section of the catch fence into the crowd. My buddy was there and invited me to come watch the race. I know he took his family and was at the races yesterday. I called him but hve not heard back. From the video from his seats yesterday, he'd have been pretty close to this area,
