My church has had classes on the constitution. Pastor doesn't come right out and say which side he is on, but it's pretty clear. I truly believe if push came to shove and it was a matter of protecting our faith, he would speak up.
I'm not sure where this peaceful, wimpy Jesus came from. The hippies or something? Jesus freaked out and overturned tables of the money changers in the temple. Never once did he say he was cool with someone doing something wrong. He always told them to stop and don't do it again. He was most definitely not a tolerant man.

He also told them to sell their cloak and buy a sword, they did not have guns back then. He said they were safe while he was there but he would not be there. They had to protect themselves from robber and thieves!:)

Interesting op. I have a few jw's on my fb and typically they are silent on mine about their meetings/religion etc. Buuuttt this weekend one did a sound off about some great sat. Session urging those who missed it to go to the redo on Sunday. And another one was gushing over something done at hers and how wonderful the elders/bro's were when giving it. These people are in different states//areas. Anyway it sure caught my attention.

Okay, I am gathering from my friend back east that the sermon opened by the minister saying, "some of you are not going to like what I have to say, but sometimes the truth hurts."

He went on to say, (paraphrasing) "America is a melting pot." And Obama is our elected leader "like it or not". Stating, "it is the duty to render under to Caesar."(This is direct quote).

He went on saying America was in dire and turbulent times and that some people might be "moved to act aggressively". And he stated this was not Christian. That only peaceful protest would be tolerated "in the eyes of God and the law."

He made a couple of statements admonishing Obamacare and that is where as many as thirty people got up and walked out of the sermon.

He said there was a lady next to him taping it with her cell! With any luck, it'll be on Youtube.

My fiend is sort of hard to follow at the moment! He's furious. He is non-conspiratorial, former 21Bravo from Lost in the Woods, and sort of a middle of the road Republican. Man, he is hot!

He said he felt blindsided.

Good post OP. While I consider myself a Christian, I am not the church going type. Here lately, Matthew 26:52 has been ringing true to me. It would seem that engaging in non-violent resistance and protest would be in our best interest.

So, a very close friend calls me this afternoon and tells me that his pastor in Oklahoma at a Baptist Church, told the congregation, "Jesus was a man of peace." "Violent revolt is against Jesus." And implied these were the actions of terrorist.

My pastor said something weird today as well.

"Something big is coming…

I don't know what it is yet, but something big is around the corner.

I'm hearing things that I have never heard before. I am seeing things I have never seen before.

When I know what it is, I will tell you…"

Another friend, residing back east, just told me they left in the middle of the sermon at a Lutheran Church because of a very similar message.

Spooky as hell, given that ministers have been trained by DHS to help out in times of unrest.

I had a rough time at church this morning as well.

Getting through the iris scan, fingerprint recognition, and metal detector lines was a nightmare. Took us two hours to get into a pew and then they passed around the collection plate.

It's a tough time to be a sinner.

I said "no shit!" and everyone around me stated laughing. There is hope

Why do they have to worry? The churches have been telling people they are going to raptured before anything bad happens for the past 180 years.

Prepping is for wussies. Kurt Kameron told me I'm getting Raptured!!

SECRET RAPTURE - This theory is NOT Biblical! This is a Jesuit doctrine. This is a recent viewpoint that many so-called protestant Sunday pastors teach to their unknowingly little flocks. PEOPLE please study the Word. The Bible says that God's people in the last days will go through the time of trouble just like the Hebrews had to go through 400yrs of slavery in ancient Egypt. Stop teaching this false doctrine. GOOGLE it - it's called the Catholic origins of Futurism and Preterism.
