Some cultures even interpret gestures of kindness as an insult.

cultural not so much as a national, but personal growth; being 'cultured' (allowing yourself to expand, a little at least, on every part you recognize as the whole of yourself) thus allows you better discernment through knowing variance: what you do with said discernment, that is the important thing.

The most cultured of people may yet be outshone in acts of kindness and morality, to name a few, by the most odious of oafs.
