Madeleine McCann: Parents' 'suspicious' trip

The trip was taken in the company of a ‘reduced number of journalists’ according to reports, but police note that there was a two hour period when the parents were alone. The journey was made in the Renault Scenic car which later was found to have DNA remains.

The trip was made with a friend who was a filmaker and with a camera running sat in the car.

your point being?

Why are you implying a trip to raise awareness of their missing kid, made in public, filmed by journalists, is 'Suspicious'?

Yep, the McCann's managed to get the book and the documentary banned...

I am not taking sides here, but I have watched the videos of the Portugal investigation and this is my view.

First and foremost I am not an intelligent gifted person like the McCanns, but I would never have drugged my children so they would sleep through the night when I wanted to go on the piss! The McCanns admit giving their children Calpol to sleep through the night, this drug should only be used when a child has a temperature or is sick, the McCanne's being doctors should have known better. I would NEVER leave my children alone in my house or an holiday apartment full stop! A child can choke to death in under 2-minutes!

The dogs brought in from the U.K are highly intelligent when it comes to smelling death of a corpse. Why did the dogs smell the death of a corpse behind the chair in front of the window and in the wardrobe! Why did the dogs find the smell of a corpse inside a car that had been rented some days after the disappearance of the little girl! Why did a key witness notice the tailgate of the rented vehicle left open to air for three days!

All I will say is this.

I think the child died inside the apartment, but it was a tragic accident. The parents would have been prosecuted and their other two children could have been taken in to care.

Their careers as doctors would have been over.

The truth will haunt the McCannes to the grave, I can already see the cracks.

What are the McCanns doing now? Still working as Doctors?

No idea at all. There is a rumour that their millionaire backer has recently pulled out though...

The last Crime watch appeal was earlier this year and they did not mention this man carrying his child to the creche. Therefore he must made his appearance to the investigation recently...after six years of maximum publicity.

I can't find the piece about the backer pulling out yet, I will keep digging...

Madeleine McCann search fund running out of money
The fund raised more than £1.8m from donations and some merchandise sales in the first financial year after Madeleine's disappearance.

The accounts of the fund say the money was spent on searching for Madeleine. None was used to pay the McCann's own legal defence costs. In the first year, £250,000 was spent on "search fees", with £123,573 spent on campaign management and £7,993 on hotels, travel and subsistence, among other costs.

By the end of the financial year – 31 March 2008 – the fund had just over £1m. Over the following year, the 2009 accounts show that donations fell as awareness of the case dipped. As such, the fund spent more in trying to find Madeleine than it received in donations up until 31 March 2009, drawing on its cash reserves.

On 31 March 2009, it had £690,000. But the pattern of dwindling donations continued, as the costs of running the fund and keeping up awareness remained the same, leading to the difficult financial situation the fund is in now.

Today, the fund has less than £300,000 left. They have written an open letter to supporters and celebrities, appealing for help. Mr and Mrs McCann say the money will run out by next spring.

What Happened - August 8 Kate & Gerry McCann interrogated, accused by police of lying and covering up their actions with regard to the child. Suggestions they could face a murder charge. Both of them in hysterics.


Gerry's Reaction on his blog - August 8 Kate’s parents left early this morning…At our meeting with the Portuguese police today we reaffirmed that we have to believe Madeleine is alive until there is concrete evidence to the contrary. It is this belief that has driven everything we have done in relation to publicising Madeleine's disappearance over the last 3 months.
