Yeah well new drivers have notoriously been responsible for car accidents for generations, thus the attempts to prevent this with Cinderella laws and higher insurance.
I think you nailed it by mentioning your ptsd perhaps from a past accident involving young drivers. Youth today seem to have entitlement issues, and laziness unlike other generations in their youth, but I imagine their driving skills are par for other generations. Under 25 in 1960,70, 80, 90 ect your more likely than more experienced drivers to get in an accident.

Lots of bad drivers now at any age. Most people around here do 70 to 80 where the limit is 55, faster where 65.
Even the federal government admitted anti cell phone laws are ineffective.
Most don't use turn signals. You're supposed to guess the guy in the left lane is turning right.
People make u turns everywhere as though they have no clue where they are going.
Forget neighborhood stop signs or slowing down when you see children.
