Heavenly Alchemy (OP) User ID: 41172699 United States 10/16/2013 09:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's not just kids. I have a 74-year-old gentleman friend with whom I REFUSE to drive anymore. He blasts through stop signs, because he looks at everything else around him, and he doesn't care. He thinks it's funny to floor it when he gets a yellow light, I remember screaming at him to stop, then he took his foot off the gas and started laughing ("Didn't you think I could make it?"). He changes lanes going through intersections. He never slows down in a playground zone. And that's just part of what he does. Some drivers out there are menaces and need to have their driving privileges revoked. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2268641 Sorry, but thanks for this thread so I could vent. True! That's scarry. My mom used to pull out at 5 miles an hour in front of three lanes of traffic then act shocked when someone would beep or almost hit her. She would get angry when someone would say something, then say "they will watch out for me"... No riding with her now, and I worry about her driving all the time now. Glad to be able to help in some little way, we all need to rant at one time or another. Anyone needing to vent about anything..let 'er rip. |

More of a just in case ride to the hospital and a few stitches in one of them. Don't know if it means anything or not but the dad said the kids were on their way to church to attend a youth group meeting. Maybe that is why he didn't try to lie his way out of it. Who knows. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27096549 Wheew, good to know. Who knows, that could be a huge reason that he told the truth. Ha, true that. |

Your mother's comment reminds me of what my friend says when I ask him why he doesn't pay enough attention when he crosses a street. He says "They'll stop when they see me." Hah. Up here the pedestrian has the right of way and some of them really take advantage of it. I was proactive and gave up my car 11 years ago. He thinks he's "earned" doing his own thing because he's a senior. He drives 60kph in the passing lane in an 80kph zone and then speeds through residential areas. Stop me, please, I could literally write a book about this guy. One more - he leaves his signal on when changing lanes because "It'll remind me after a minute." I'm like, "Do you know how far you can drive in one minute?! Other drivers won't know what you're doing." He didn't give a hoot. I feel sorry for your mother not realizing the danger she is in and is causing others. Thanks again and all the best to her and you. |

It is worrying when someone in your life has that mentality, here pedestrians have the right of way too and they do take it. :) Thank you, and all the best to you and yours as well. Thanks you guys for letting me vent, venting too and bringing the laughs as well. |

And almost misses but hits the tail end of another car. Quoting: Heavenly Alchemy Having had this happen to me twice I go into ptsd mode, but call to get people there, and check to make sure everyone is okay. 4 young adults pile out of the car that ran the red light and an older gentleman is in the other car. Everyone is physically okay, thank goodness. The police get there and the young driver tells them that the light hadn't changed yet when they went through it. I was livid !!! I marched up to the guy and told him I had been sitting at the light and saw the whole thing and the light had been a hard red. Blah, blah, blah. Sorry had to vent, what in the world is wrong with our youth?? Just have to add that the officer warned me against making the youth angry at me. What in the world?????? Sorry had to go full tard. Haha It's not just the youth asshole. It's you and your kids. Suck a dick. |
