The USA is washed up.

Ive been going there for my holidays, or vacation as the yanks put it, for over 20 years now, up until last year.

About the time of the millennium it was a great place, believe me, I used to absolutely love it, even on bank holidays, I would fly out to New York for a long weekend, crazy I know, but New York is one of the greatest cities anywhere in the world.

Since the turn of the millennium the place has just gone down hill, the people, the attitudes, everything just seems to have changed steadily.

Last year was the worst its ever been, went to LA, been there countless times before but WOW, talk about rudeness, from the airport, to the hotels, to even the theme parks and restaurants. The whole attitude over there seems to have changed, the people are no where near as friendly as they used to be, its just become a grab your money, have a nice day now fuck off, next please attitude to everything.

I thought never ever again.
I experienced the same thing in Vegas a few years ago, and just put it down to a bad experience, but last year just summed it up.

This is the first year in over 20 years I have not been to the States for my holidays.

I know a lot of things have been different since 9 11 but the whole attitude in the states seems to have shifted.
Not sure why that is or whats causing it, but its not just one state its all over.

Its a shame really because I do have a lot of friends over there and even they say the same thing, there seems to be something thats changing the American way of things and psyche.

I focus on the positives though - electronics are cheaper than they were in the 70's so that kinda makes up a little bit.
