Surge will be a massive issue if flo comes this close. The storm is huge and powerful. The coast line will funnel in waves, inducing record high surge

Keep that brain active!

How strong is your mind?

Take the Stroop test and find out how strong your mind is! Do you have good reaction times? Can your mind overcome basic obstacles? Find out in this test!

Made it through all 6 tests with no errors. That last one was close though.
To know where your heart is, look where your mind goes when it wanders.

A rock in bad hands killed Abel. A rock in good hands killed Goliath. It isn't about the rock.

A true warrior fights not because he hates the one in front of him, but because he loves those behind him.

Oh THAT test had some tricky ones! A couple of them stumped me, but once the answers were revealed I could see it.

The one above is a different test. The name of a color is written out (for example: yellow), but the writing is a different color from the word (for example: the word yellow is written in the color green - YELLOW). You try to say the actual color that the writing is and not the color of the word itself. Gets fast at the end, final stage.

The storm surge would be unimaginable hitting DC to NY. Harvey was record setting for rain totals. Katrina for storm surge; Florence would be a worse monster for where it's possibly going to be hitting. Sandy was a test run of the most serious sort for the Northeast. This would be a crippling blow as Florence is not working with our Grandfather's SST's. I hope Florence does not stay this strong; for I can't image what intensity of models with be in upcoming runs if it does.

Think of the power grid that would go down if Florence takes this path. Winds of this magnitude, if we don't get a Matthew and Florence does make direct landfall; will be catastrophic and the Northeast could be in a situation we've not ever seen before. Still Puerto Rico must not be left to linger AGAIN either; for they could be in for a long next 60 days too. I hope we're prepared to do better this year if they get another direct hit.

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated*5.5 Afghanistan ~ Pg 20354
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The storm system that produced widespread street flooding in Rochester last night was a record breaker. The National Weather Service says its station at the Rochester Airport recorded just over 3.3-inches of rain yesterday, which is over double the previous record for September 5th that was set in 1887 at 1.5-inches.

Many areas in Rochester saw over 5-inches of rain from the storm, which produced rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour at its peak. Rochester was located within a narrow band of extremely rain that stretched from Austin and Albert Lea, through the city, and into Wisconsin were the rainfall totals ranged from 4 to 6 inches. Locally, the highest rainfall total was found just north of Rochester at 6.07 inches.
