Simple27 (OP) User ID: 76580724 United States 09/29/2018 04:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | And thank you all for your positive thoughts and prayers on M.F.M.R (Mezzo's Friday Morning Rant.) Quoting: InterMezzo We are still quite a bit away from bankruptcy and we won't go down without a fight, but I see it lurking in the future with such distant financial management and a practically invisible Sales organisation (all new people appointed as well there in the top, who have no clue about printing and marketing, but still make like 400K a year at least.) It is just utterly frustrating to see a beautiful company, with so many beautiful, hard working people, getting ruined by a puppet master board, whose only game is to shove money from one gap to the other and carry no risk themselves at all. Being a manager myself, it makes me admire my crew even more, because despite the tension, they keep putting all energy in it, day after day. It makes me a lucky and proud guy. I know it is not just our company. It breathes through society. I just hate it when so called leaders are so ignorant toward the people they are supposed to lead and only do what they do for their own personal gain. I know I am naive, but that is why we should always put trust in our own strength and believe in those around us and the people who are dear to us and take a stand against those who pretend to mean the best for us, but are only in it to fatten their own wallet. Okay Che Guevara, better quit before this turns into M.S.A.R (Mezzo's Saturday Afternoon Rant.) And I know there are much worse things going on in this world, like the shocking news about the tsunami in Indonesia. My heart cries for those poor people. You have a beautiful, huge heart Mezzo. Love you! ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

Sunspots have been absent for most of 2018, and the sun’s ultraviolet output has sharply dropped. New research shows that Earth’s upper atmosphere is responding. “We see a cooling trend,” says Martin Mlynczak of NASA’s Langley Research Center. “High above Earth’s surface, near the edge of space, our atmosphere is losing heat energy. If current trends continue, it could soon set a Space Age record for cold.” [link to spaceweatherarchive.com (secure)] “And he brought them out and said, 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' KickinIt User ID: 74785546 United States 09/29/2018 05:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Nothing too thrilling. I decided to take advantage of no plans and get some projects done. Namely the rematting and reframing of some artwork I have. Even though I moved over a year ago, I still don't have most of my artwork hung. I've hung a few things, and I have several pieces out and leaning, but I want it on the walls! I waited because I wanted to address the framing/re-framing issues before I determined where certain pieces would go. And clearly I've been lazy about addressing the framing issues. Last night after work I got some matting cut (needed odd sizes) and also found new frames for 2 pieces. Today I'm going to hit a few more places because I need one more frame. I'm going to work on getting those together and also doing a thorough cleaning off of my other art that's been sitting around collecting dust. If I have time today I also have a few pieces I want to take to a frame shop. And there's one in my neighborhood literally at the end of the block, so it's ridiculous I haven't been in there yet. I also want to watch our last 2 baseball games today/tomorrow. We have a very slight chance of getting the 2nd wild card spot. Need to win though, and we need L.A. to lose. And I'm making soup tomorrow! And I want to spend intermittent periods outside on the patio, because it's going to be a lovely 75 today! Oh, get this - it's going to be mid to upper 80's here all this week! Fucking summer! What kind of soup will you be making? I think I may have to copy your soup plan! : ) Well, it's kind of a hodgepodge of things. I'm using homemade turkey stock that I've had in the freezer (that's the key), but I don't have turkey meat so I'm using chicken in the soup. Will add garlic, celery, carrot, onion, tomatoes, parsley, kale, mushrooms and orzo. I usually prefer barley in soup, but for some strange reason I have 2 packages or orzo, which I rarely eat, so I'm gonna use some of that. I think I'm craving soup because we finally had some fall weather this past week. Unfortunately it's going up to the mid to upper 80's all this week, but I'm making soup anyway in protest. |

KickinIt User ID: 74785546 United States 09/29/2018 06:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a smorgasbord of things I can throw together for a soup too lol! And it sounds like a good plan! That's what's great about soup, you can make it up based on what you have on hand. It's also a great way to get lots of veggies involved, and it's typically cheap to make and low in calories (if broth-based, which is the only kind I tend to make). I'll make this pot of soup and eat it all week long. I have a friend who, years ago, would have an annual party called "group soup". He'd invite a bunch of people over for football on a Sunday, and everyone was instructed to bring an ingredient for soup. Could be anything. He would provide the stock. Some years it turned out beautifully, other years it was overloaded with starches! Weird idea and it's a crapshoot how it turns out, but that was part of the fun. There were always other snacks of course, in case the soup sucked. |
