A developing Major Winter storm over the Southern Plains will move eastward to the Southeast Coast by Sunday morning. The system will produce snow over parts of the Central Rockies/Central Plains that will taper off overnight Saturday. The system will also produce heavy snow over parts of the Middle Mississippi and Western Ohio Valleys through Saturday evening. Additionally, showers and thunderstorms will develop along the associated front over parts of the Southern Plains/Western Gulf Coast that will retreat to the Central Gulf Coast by Saturday morning. A
long the rain/snow line, pockets of rain/freezing rain will develop over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley and the Southern Ohio/Tennessee Valleys overnight Friday into Saturday morning. The snow will expand eastward into the Central/Southern Appalachians on Saturday and into parts of the Mid-Atlantic on Saturday afternoon, continuing into Sunday.
Furthermore overnight Friday, rain will move eastward into the Tennessee Valley/Southeast that will move into the Southeast/Southern Mid-Atlantic overnight Saturday and, likewise, continue into Sunday. Overnight Saturday, areas of rain/freezing rain will develop over parts of the Southern/Central Appalachians and parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic through Sunday morning. The snow and rain/freezing rain will produce hazardous travel conditions with this storm.
