It's a very good feeling, one most St. Louisans haven't felt in their lifetimes. During the first round a friend and I were talking about how it feels like a team of destiny. I won't get into the laundry list as to why because there are a lot of things, but here are a few:

-as of Jan. 3 we were in LAST place. I'm talking in the whole league, not just our division. We were 31st out of 31.

-As a result they fired the coach and we started anew - normally not easy midway through the season, much less taking a team from last to first.

-lost our goalie and our backup goalie due to injuries and went with the 3rd guy, who prior to this season had only played in the big leagues for a total of 12 minutes. Also, earlier in the season the Blues were going to send him to the minors, and he refused to go. Not kidding, he said no, he wouldn't go because he could play. Somehow they kept him on the roster, and now here he is.

-Our player who scored the winning goal in double-OT in the last series is a St. Louisan, as was the Dallas goalie he scored against.

-the hand pass incident earlier in the recent series with the Sharks, which cost us the game and the series lead, but ultimately seemed to create some sort of karma in our favor. We came back with a vengeance and scored heavily against them the last 2 games in a row.

I could go on, but that gives you an idea. Also, the only other times in my life I felt this strong feeling of a "team of destiny" I was right - the 2011 Cardinals, and the 1999/2000 STL Rams.

The Mississippi River gauge at Baton Rouge rose above flood stage on Jan 5th - an astounding 136 days ago! Previous record longest flood event was 135 days set during the great flood of 1927. Current forecast keeps river above flood stage through at least June 18. #lawx

I did that last night and I also hate it, because I want to keep up w/the weather online and it's not as easy on my phone. It ended up being a non-issue, but if there is a power surge that sucks, so I'm glad I played it safe.
 Quoting: KickinIt

Yeah. Exactly. I don't want to lose another computer this year, or at any time to a power surge. So I always play it ultra conservative and just turn off my computer when there is a lightning storm.

Such storms are rare in SoCal, so it doubly sucks to have to do that.

At least I can still use my Amazon fire stick on my other monitor. And at least the storm is finally gone.

Wedding panic is on! Rehearsal and rehearsal dinner are tomorrow. Gotta find something to wear, but more importantly, trying to put together one of those 'bow bouquets' using bows and ribbons from the gifts from her bridal shower. I am so not as crafty as I once was lol! This thing has taken WAY longer than it should have and I'm still not finished with it. Plus, she didn't have a lot of bows and ribbons, so I bought some to make up for it.

Honestly, so happy this is the last wedding I will have to be in. Aside from Mini's, maybe, one day in the far future! I hate 'spotlight' shit.

Oh yes. And branded companies like Dell are the worst. My $1800 Dell desktop lasted just over a year. And I take care of my shit.

They sure don't make them like they used to.

Which is why I went back to building my own. My own computers have always been superior in terms of longevity and quality. I wasn't going to wait 3 weeks to send it back to Dell get it assessed, and repaired if they were even able to do that. Dipshits. Fuck Dell.

Plus, no bloatware.
