Sad day here. My sons 9 year old dog is being euthanized due to cancer. She looked like a lab, but was part English Setter. A beautiful girl. The kids are here after we all went over to say goodbye. Many tears! I loved her like my own! Her name is Marley!!!
Quoting: bigD111 So sorry to hear that D. Our pets are family members and losing one of them is always rough. I once wrote a poem for a dear friend of mine, who lost her dog to cancer as well. Hope it offers some comfort for all of you or anyone else who is facing the same grief for a loved one, pet or family member.
For Eternity
How do you write about someone dear
when you know there is no tomorrow
are there words to tell the world
all there's left is pain and sorrow
The powerless feeling that burns inside
is something words can never ease
God knows you fought so hard, so long
to defeat this incurable disease
Why was this a battle you could not win
there are people that needed you to stay
your dreams and goals were far from done
so how could He let you slip away
We would spend everything we own
if that would have made you stronger
give our hearts, body and soul
if that could have kept you longer
We scream and cry, hope and pray
for a miracle to undo what is done
but miracles never seem to happen
at moments you really need just one
We love you, always and forever
know that now your travel starts
a lifetime is far to short to tell
you are for eternity in our hearts
