when you get to bemy age, you're pretty much done with all the bs and boring / pretentious people. I have made myself VERY SCARCE, quit with very many people, and kept juzt 3 or 4 friends that pretty much leave me the f#k alone. Its not just age, many younger people are
feeling the same way .
Being with a gathering of people is, to me, very stressful and exhausting,,I am not socially inept,,just tired of the hassle.
I am very happy to be alone, except with my kids.
TIME is speeding up, and I fi d it hard keeping up with my own affairs and chores, and can no longer tolerate the "push" that people impose on me to do this or that...
and oh so shallow and BORING,,

I can already relate!

Also, I recently read an article about why time feels like it goes so fast as you get older. I always chalked it up to bein an "older person thing", but they said that the younger a person is, the more their brain has to process in a day, and therefore time feels slower (more effort). However, as we age we don't need to process as much, so time flies by. Made sense to me.
 Quoting: KickinIt

I can already relate also. I'd rather spend time on me/myself/and I rather than focus on others who may or may not return the favor.

I'm not socially inept either. I just prefer being alone.

A source familiar with the situation confirms to @TheAthleticNHL that Boston defenseman Zdeno Chara has a broken jaw.

That's really a shame. I feel bad about the injury, and that he can't play further.

 Quoting: KickinIt

So true. It's not time that is going faster. It's the things we need to, but also want to process. I call it infobesitas. We are so obsessed and pressured by all the in your face media (smartphone, 600 tv channels, social media) that time seems to go by twice as fast. And with that, we lose track and interest of all that happens around us in real life, make us more and more egoistic toward everyone around us.

Most of the younger generation need more and more attention, because they are so distracted by all that technology. Without it they would be lost. That puts more pressure on the older generation too, needing to put more energy in keeping up or needing to put more energy in getting the techno-generation to slow down and pay attention to things that really matter.. very tiring.

I know I am generalizing. But it is very worrisome to see people getting more and more stressed because they can't keep up anymore.. sad really.

 Quoting: Simple27

Great news!

My oldest is still pissing around with his. He had a little accident when he was on his permit and I think it took the will to drive out of him. lol
 Quoting: mistersplinter

Yeah, that would've made me nervous too. I understand lol.

Not sure how it works in other states, but up here when you get your license you're a junior operator for the first 6 months and can't drive with anyone under 18 years old in your vehicle. Unless you're 18 years old yourself. Naturally Mini wants to go joy ride with her friend (friend is only 15 or 16 years old) and I'm the villain who won't let her break the law lol.

Should I just let her? I mean, she's a good driver and all of these new driving/license laws up here are bs. Wasn't like this when I got my license.

1dunno1
 Quoting: Simple27

I would probably be the villain, too. I know from personal experience that early run-ins with the law can be hard to live down...they know your name type shit. I grew up in a small town though, so it might not be as big a problem where you live.

Think how bad that would suck. Make it all the way to the big game - halfway through it, and this happens. That's a huge bummer.

Great. Random super bad diarrhea came out of nowhere. I haven’t eaten anything odd or strange or too much that would cause it.

Now random bad nausea out of nowhere.

Now I can’t sleep. Ugh.

Based on past historic recordings, this swarm is only expected to generate events of magnitude less than 4.0,” according to a Caltech-USGS statement.

Quakes in the area between Chino and Riverside are common, according to Caltech and the USGS.

“Earthquake swarms are characterized as clusters of events in space and time that have no obvious mainshock,” according to the Caltech-USGS statement.

Bay of Plenty residents got a shaky start to winter with just under 100 earthquakes around north Taupō since yesterday afternoon.

Between 4.30pm and 9.30pm yesterday, just under 100 earthquakes were registered in a swarm about 25-30km north of Taupō.

Excessive Rainfall Discussion
NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD
420 AM EDT Wed Jun 05 2019

Day 1
Valid 12Z Wed Jun 05 2019 - 12Z Thu Jun 06 2019

...THERE IS A HIGH RISK OF EXCESSIVE RAINFALL ACROSS THE MIDDLE TO
UPPER COAST OF TEXAS INTO SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA...

...Eastern Texas into Southwest Louisiana...

There is a strong model consensus for very heavy to excessive
rainfall amounts day 1 along the Central to Upper Texas coast into
Southwest Louisiana. PW values 2.25 to 2.50+...3+ standard
deviations above the mean...expected to impact much of eastern TX
into the Lower MS Valley day 1 in an axis of strong southerly low
level flow...850-700 mb moisture flux anomalies 3 to 5 standard
deviations above the mean...off the western Gulf of Mexico.
Rainfall intensities likely to increase early this period along
the mid to upper TX coast in the above mentioned axis of anomalous
850-700 mb moisture flux off the western Gulf that will be moving
only slowly up the TX coast into southwest LA day 1. SREF
probabilities for 5"+ rainfall amounts are in the 70-100% range
across much of the coastal sections of WFO HGX and LCH
CWA...inland by approximately 50 nm. In this region...the latest
hi res model consensus is for 6-10"+ amounts with these amounts
depicted in WPCs day 1 qpf. Changes to the previous Excessive
Rainfall Outlook for this period was to introduce a high risk in
the consensus very heavy qpf axis
. Otherwise...only some minor
changes made to the slight and moderate risk areas...suppressing
them slightly southward to match the consensus heaviest precip
axis. Widespread major to life threatening flooding possible in
the high risk area...especially across the Houston metro region
which is susceptible to major flooding issues.
