Sorry you are having all these appointments. Definitely no fun in that. I also have GERD. For most people it's "silent", myself included (the nickname is "silent reflux", because you don't have all the heartburn symptoms). However, over time I have mostly learned how to manage it. DO NOT let them put you on proton pump inhibitors. They are VERY BAD for you, and in my case I'm convinced the PPIs caused me worse issues keeping my pH balanced. I'm sure of it - believe me, I've done tons of research on all this stuff. I was on those PPIs for some years, maybe 6ish, and I eventually weaned myself off. Thank god, because now they are coming out with studies that are horror stories of long term use. I take various natural aids to help keep things in check, and they do help (I will PM you if interested). Unfortunately in my case the damage was done (we believe this had been going on since high school and this was diagnosed in my very early 30s). I can't reverse anything but am doing what I can going forward (for the most part). Remember, NO PPIs!!

Oh no!!! I've checked on a very few other threads on glp - the people posting are pretty ugly to each other. Makes me so appreciate the eq folks, and especially Simple, for the civility and good community we share here. I choose not to post elsewhere, and probably won't even go check other threads because they are so ugly to read. I'm too old to put up with that crap.

If I haven't told you lately, Simple, I love you and appreciate all you do to make the eq thread the wonderful place it is. And I love all the rest of you - you are all like family! There are many here that I don't really exchange messages with, like Spirit Warrior, but I trust her and 'know' her as part of the family! And appreciate all she does to keep the info updated!

I hope CS can make a come-back. If you're here as an AC, please know you're missed!
