One of the 3 USA firefighters killed in that plane crash in Australia, is from Great Falls Montana. From our National Guard unit!

Going on a field trip with my son's astronomy class to the local planetarium today. I am kind of excited!

Hope you had a good time! I love our planetarium. We have that and our Science Center. When I was really young the planetarium WAS our science center, but the science center of today came along a bit later when I was an adolescent. My dad and I went to the planetarium a lot, so I have a soft spot for the place. Plus, it's super cool looking.

We did, thanks.

Our planetarium is at the local university. It started off kinda small years ago, but has steadily gotten nicer as time passes. We go once every couple of months. My lovely wife works at the University and is one of the ones in charge of buying the shows that they show at the planetarium. We get the inside scoop on what is coming before hand.

Our doesn't look nearly as cool as the one you showed...just a building with an observation platform on top.
 Quoting: mistersplinter

That's cool about your wife's job! Is there an admission fee to get into your planetarium? Both of ours are free, but some special exhibits or features, like going to see whatever's on the IMAX at the science center, will have a fee. St. Louis is unique in that we have a ton of major attractions that are all free. Zoo, art museum, history museum, Arch (and museum), etc... It's a wonderful thing, and very rare. It allows people of all income levels to experience awesome stuff! Even at the art museum they have Free Fridays all day/night, which means you don't have to pay for the special exhibit. I've seen some great ones, and always for free!
 Quoting: KickinIt

All shows are free, but you have to get a ticket. The planetarium is pretty small...maybe 80 seats..so they'd get swamped if they just opened it to the public.

That is very cool about St. Louis...more cities should do that. All of the damn zoos around in driving distance to me are definitely NOT free...lol.

National Bio and Agro-defense Facility - in Manhattan KS. Not due to be online & working until 2022 - at least that's the public line. BUT...I believe it's the same level biological lab as the Wuhan lab. And it will research and work on infectious diseases in both people and animals. What if this thing is actually able to do work right now???

The move to take the KS legislators to meetings that required them to cancel all scheduled meetings, then take them separately by party affiliation was to keep from having to give public info about the purpose - one of the posters pointed out that there are laws about bringing the politicians together and making a quorum or official meeting. THey dodged that by doing separate briefings. But this whole thing happened too close to this virus catastrophe to be a coincidence.

Thank you KickinIt for finding the thread for me!!! Reading through that was an AHA moment.

Holy crap, some of this I didn't know. I was already suspicious about that KS situation but I'm not sure I'm current w/that thread at this point. Regardless, I think you're on to something here.

Yeah, a lot of zoos, museums, etc. are easily $20 or so for admission in many cities.
