But by the time I went to look at it, it had disappeared because it was downgraded. Also, the testimonies would indicate it should be higher, although it was a very shallow quake. EDIT: NOW UPGRADED TO 5.8 Quoting: KickinIt 163 km W of #Tabriz (#Iran) Quoting: Ostria1 USGS finally posted it as a 6.0, and EMSC has now upgraded to the same. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78172537 I saw that later last night! It's very weird there have been 2 deaths by float this year. This particular parade is a popular one, too. ETA: Here's a tweet from when it happened. You don't see the person who is hit. I cannot believe there are no barricades whatsoever. No temporary fencing, nothing. This is shocking to me. No one should be able to get that close to the floats. @japan11103399

It's mostly enclosed but there is a 14" opening at the top of the north wall. I went to see what the movment was, and there was a HUGE bluejay flying back & forth on the patio! He must have gone back & forth about a dozen times, landing at one end or the other and resting for a bit. I was floored! We don't usually see them in this area until nearly summretime. It was in the upper 30's outside that night. That beautiful bird flew around for about 15 minutes, then flew out the opening and was gone. I have no idea what the significance is that's attached to seeing a bluejay so far out of season. TANSTAAFL - There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch |
