moms didn’t have any pampers and they use cloth with really large safety pins

Means they dumped everything that was in the diaper and then wash them or if you had enough money back then you could hire a company to do it for you

Savannah just 'postponed' the big St. Patrick's Day parade and festival. It is a pretty big one...I think the 2nd largest one in the nation.

A bunch of Savannah businesses are bumming, but it's probably for the best.

I dislike giant crowds so I haven't been in years, but it was a lot of fun when I was younger.

No shit. I am from that era. And most didn't even have a washing machine. They had to wash by hand. I remember my mom used this piece of advanced technology:

[link to www.jeebeetjes.nl (secure)]

And there was not even a toilet. Often an outhouse, with a bucket that needed to be emptied frequently, depending on how big the family was.

I am sure Arnie can go back even further in her knowledge.

Thank God for all moms and technology progress.

Mom used that ringer washer = that is why clothes back then had metal buttons, so they didn't break going through the ringer.

We don't even have those big catalogs to fall back on how, hee hee

Don't throw our those old rags. Gross as our modern way of thinking, but wipe and put in a bucket of vinegar or diluted bleach, then wash at the end of the day.

The point of bringing up diapers earlier, it was done for a 100's of years. I remember my mom using the toilet plunger to get off the most soilage off the diapers and into the diaper pail it went with some sort of solution in there. I don't remember what it was, likely 1-2 part bleach to 10 part water.

Sure beats leaves
