Hugattack

So relieved to hear the better news about your Papa Sim and I hope it will lead to him coming home soon. I am sure the music project worked miracles as well. I am convinced he loved it. You did good! hf

Hope you find some good sleeps. You deserve them. hugs

Same. I have followed her for a bit. Reminded me of how my dear mama handled hospice. Never once doubted God through it all. That was me that did the doubting and it was horribly hard on me to lose her. Monkey's passing, brought it all back home.

my mom was the same - a real trooper through it all and held tight to her faith, which got her through it with nothing but positivity.

That's how my mom went...and I think we are soooo blessed to be able to look back and remember our moms that way. My mom was completely ready to leave this world and go see Jesus! She had been unconscious for a while, then suddenly woke up and said - "What am I still doing here??" Those were her last words, I think. But she was totally at peace and ready to go. I take comfort in believing I will get to see her again some day...and lately I've been thinking it might be sooner than I thought!

I have goosebumps reading your post. My mother was in a coma and having a terrible time breathing- lungs filling up with fluid. All of the sudden, she jumped out of bed, ripped her oxygen mask off and said " A, take me home". I knew what she meant- she didn't want to go back to our house, but with my Dad in heaven. The nurses were going to restrain her and I told them hell no, she was going to heaven with my Dad peacefully. She died 20 minutes later, her hand in mine.
 Quoting: ScarlettRedfern

My mom was the most positive woman you would ever met. Even in all the pain she went through, she was the one comforting others instead of the other way around. She passed almost 4 years ago at home on her own choosing.

And I know she is also rocking and rolling up there in Heaven, most likely with those of you who lost their moms as well and all your lost loved ones. One day we will all join that party. It will be the longest and biggest block party ever. I will bring the jokes.

But not just yet. We still got plenty of things to do down here. hf

One thing I don't understand. Costco is always filled to the brim with paper towels, water...everything. To the ceiling.

Why the fuck are all these people who never bought such paper towels before in their life - or ever even USE paper towels - doing it now and making it harder for the rest of us?

How's Papa doing today Simple?
 Quoting: bigD111

Just got an update 20 minutes ago : )

Per his doctor - he is stable, blood pressure is normal, heart rate is normal and there's no fever.

They had to put him back on sedation because he was getting agitated. They're gonna try weaning him off slowly.

He's still on the ventilator.

Now per me (stalking his patient portal online lol) - his white blood count has gone down a lot! This is good because it got pretty high yesterday, so the antibiotics are working. His platelets are normal again too. His oxygen saturation at last check was 97%.

The music should be playing in his room as I type. My cousin texted me to confirm that his nurse friend has delivered. : )

That's really sad, may she rest in peace. I wasn't familiar w/her until I saw her thread. Read a little bit of it, but to be honest it hit too close to home for me and, emotionally, I couldn't keep up with it. She really handled her illness with grace. Godspeed, Monkeyflower!

None of that talk allowed, Granny. Baby S needs you to stick around! We are lucky to have had such great moms. I look forward to seeing mine again too. Although I just had a dream about her the other day - my whole family went on a trip together and even my mom was there. I woke up feeling so good that I got to see her :) (she wasn't visiting me - I've had those dreams - this was just a dream)

You've mentioned your mom here before, she sounded like a real gem. I guess w/this virus going around we're all feeling a little bit closer to death and hence are thinking of our lost loved ones. I've thought of many of my older family members who have passed and, as much as I miss them, are glad they are not here for this so I don't have to worry sick about them. I think of no one being able to visit them, etc. and it would've been really tough. Bless your momma, Mezzo!

Part of the problem is that a huge percentage of people are not working right now or working from home, so everyone is home all day, every day. This means all of us are going through more toilet paper, paper towels, eggs, milk, and all the other products that are hard to find. Combine that with manufacturers having to somehow replenish what was frantically bought, but also try to increase the amount they are making in order to meet the current demand. They just can't seem to catch up.
