Earthquake Forecast for the Salton Sea Swarm of August 2020

During this earthquake swarm, the probability of larger earthquakes in this region is significantly greater than usual. The southernmost section of the San Andreas Fault is capable of rupturing in large magnitude earthquakes (magnitude 7+), but the last earthquake that strong was more than 300 years ago. In a typical week, there is approximately a 1 in 10,000 chance of a magnitude 7+ earthquake on the southernmost San Andreas Fault. That probability is significantly elevated while swarm activity remains high.

The following three scenarios describe possibilities of what could happen from 10 August to 18 August.....

Sinabung Volcano Fires Thick Ash 30,000 ft (9.1 km) a.s.l., turning the sky BLACK in the middle of the day
August 10, 2020

Sumatra’s highly active Sinabung Volcano has exploded again today, Aug 10, firing volcanic ash into the atmosphere.

The Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin is warning of a thick ash plume rising to at least 30,000 feet (9.1 km) — particulates ejected to around these levels –and so into the stratosphere– can have a direct cooling effect on our planet.

I sure would not wait and look at all of that ash up in the air. What goes up comes down VERY FAST. Pyroclastic flow comes to mind.

I do love my storms. A true midwesterner at heart, I stick my head out during the worst of it to "see how bad it is". Takes a lot for me to go to the basement. Not that I don't take it seriously, I do, I just don't want to miss anything :)

Whoa, as I type this I heard noise outside. Storms here! Very derecho like! Headed to stick my head out now!!

Cold-Records Fall Across Far-Eastern Russia
The COLD TIMES are returning, the mid-latitudes are refreezing, in line with historically low solar activity, cloud-nucleating Cosmic Rays, and a meridional jet stream flow. Prepare. GSM.

Before this year, the Greenland ice sheet had never grown anywhere-close to 4 Gigatons in any of the months of June, July, or August, according to DMI records (which go back to 1981). In addition, the DMI record books also reveal that yesterday’s 4 Gt GAIN smashed the previous mid-Aug record by over 2 full Gigatons.

Harvested with my friend yesterday - about a bushel of blackeyed peas, a half bushel of purple hull peas, a half bushel of cucumbers, a quarter bushel of okra, about 8 zucchini squash, and a few tomatoes. We've been getting that much or more 3 days a week for over a month! We are about to plant green beans, pinto beans, autumn squash, turnips, beets, and a few other cool-weather crops for harvesting in October. Lots of work, but we won't starve this winter if the food shortages get bad!! Also, my 70 chickens are starting to lay eggs finally. We are getting about a dozen a day.

I've ordered a home freeze dryer - hope it comes soon. I really want to freeze dry some of this bounty!!

We are staying healthy, although the virus cases here have been steadily climbing. HOWEVER, found out from a friend who knows someone with virus, who had to keep testing until he got a negative result before he could go back to work. His testing nurse told him that each of the 3 positive tests he had were COUNTED AS 3 NEW CASES, not as one person testing 3 times!!!

My friend who had the virus has finally tested negative, praise God! He lost a ton of weight, still has breathing issues, and still has minimal sense of taste or smell. But he is up and around some, and is very grateful for all the prayers!

Glad you survived the bad storms!! Those were some crazy winds! Hope You are staying healthy, and thank you for all your updates!

Last post for a bit -

What's the word on Nef, Simple? You guys doing ok?? Been thinking about you and praying...

And on the topic of bears...while in Colorado with my sister in July, we had a bear amble past her condo one evening. About 20 feet or less from her condo. Right at dusk - another 5 minutes and we wouldn't have been able to even see it. We had been spending a lot of time at night sitting on her deck, but we got a little more cautious after that. Especially after finding out that a condo resident just a few doors down from her had a bear climb on to his deck a couple of days previous to drink the water out of his hummingbird feeder!!! They have a lot of bears on that area, we've found out!!! (Edit for spelling!)

Love ya, lady! Keep us posted about Nef! Lots of prayers for y'all!!
