JetBlue flight to New York aborts takeoff, evacuates at Puerto Rico airport after reported engine fire -

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (WABC) -- A Jet Blue flight headed to JFK Airport from Puerto Rico was evacuated after the left engine caught on fire Saturday night.

Flight 704 from Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan experienced the engine fire while taxiing before takeoff around 7:15 p.m.

Puerto Rico airport official Rolando Padua said in a press statement that the 186 passengers aboard the A-320 aircraft were evacuated after the pilot halted the A-320 aircraft before it could take off.

Padua said three people suffered minor injuries because of the emergency evacuation.

Russian Navy ‘forces US submarine out’ of Arctic boundary waters – report

More to the puzzle

ExxonMobil, Rosneft start joint Arctic drilling in defiance of sanctions

ExxonMobil Russia chief Glen Waller confirmed the strong partnership between the companies. “Ours is a long-term partnership and we see great prospects here, we are ready to continue our work,” he said.

Optimistic company forecasts put oil reserves in the Kara Sea as high as 13 billion tons, more than in the Gulf of Mexico, or the whole of Saudi Arabia.

The drilling is being done by the West Alpha oilrig, built by Norway’s North Atlantic Drilling. It has a deadweight of 30,700 tons and can drill wells in the shelf up to 7 km deep.

The rig was equipped with an advanced iceberg warning system, which tracks potentially dangerous icebergs, giving enough time for either support ships to tow them away, or for the rig itself to seal off the well and evacuate to safety.

Rosneft is one of the Russian companies targeted by Western nations, imposed to punish Moscow for its stance over the Ukrainian crisis. Russia’s retaliation so far has been to ban the import of foodstuffs from the countries that approved anti-Russian sanctions.

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated*5.5 Afghanistan ~ Pg 20354
I need some help with a scavenger hunt list for my sister's bachelorette party tomorrow. I've been looking online and am pretty much horrified at the pre-made lists! Lol, I don't know, I just can't imagine doing most of the things I'm seeing.

Trying to come up with 20 things/situations/people that we will need to get a picture of or with. I have 16 so far.

This isn't your typical bachelorette party. We are going to a country music concert and the scavenger hunt will take place while we are tail gating prior to the start of the concert.

I am not interested in giving a lap dance to a stranger or receiving one or doing anything of that nature. That's not my sister's style either so I'm not being the fun police, just trying to keep things respectful and...clean. My mom and the groom's mom will also be a part of this, although they are probably the craziest of the group, lol.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

12 days lost in Siberia: 4-yo girl rescued with drone, choppers, dogs

A missing four-year-old girl was rescued by Russian authorities after spending nearly two weeks wandering in Siberian forests and swamps. An unmanned aerial vehicle, helicopters, search dogs and dozens of people took part in the rescue operation.

Little Karina went missing in Russia’s Yakutia Republic on July 29, but local authorities were only notified on August 3 about the missing child.

The girl’s mother thought her husband had picked her up, while he was in fact fighting local fires with a brigade of firemen and there had been no communication between the two.

Before the child went missing, she was last seen heading off into the forest with her puppy.

Authorities investigating serious crash at New York dirt track where witness says Tony Stewart struck a driver

Witnesses say NASCAR star Tony Stewart struck another driver at a New York dirt track Saturday, a year after he was involved in another crash that left a young woman dead.

Authorities say they are investigating the crash at Canandaigua Motorsports Park but gave no details early Sunday. A spokeswoman for Thompson Health said the hospital was treating one patient involved in the crash at Canandaigua Motorsports Park, but would not identify the patient or give a condition or injury details.

Michael Messerly, a fan who witnessed the crash, said it appeared Stewart — racing there on the eve of a race at Watkins Glen — hit a driver who was walking on the dimly lit track after they had collided on the previous lap.

He said Stewart struck the driver, who was wearing a dark racing suit, as he tried to "speed past" him.

"I didn't see (the other driver) anymore," he said. "It just seemed like he was suddenly gone."

Messerly said the crash appeared to be the result of "a number of bad decisions" and not "any intent on Tony Stewart's part."
