That's impressive he did all that this morning. I've made various types of breads and rolls in my time, but I've never even thought about making english muffins. It's rare I have one, but I do enjoy them. In fact, I just remembered I have a freezer full right now! A family member sent me a Xmas gift box from Wolfermans, so I have 4 different flavors taking up too much freezer space. If you've never heard of Wolfermans here's a link [ link to www.wolfermans.com (secure)] English muffins are what they're known for (used to be all they sold) and they are very thick. So thick I usually cut them in 3 slices vs. in half, otherwise it's too bread-y and not toasted enough. Since I eat that kind of thing so rarely, it will probably take me all year to eat those damn things! Come to think of it, I should just give away a few of the packages. Quoting: KickinIt I hadn't heard of Wolfermans, thanks for the link. :) Aside from breakfast sandwiches I like them with butter and peanut butter on them. Or with cream cheese on them. Or even used for mini pizzas! *inserts your 'I love bread' gif here*~*Ride the Wave*~ |

I nearly always just eat them toasted with some butter. Once in a blue moon I enjoy some sort of preserves. There is a bakery in Ohio that I hit up every time I go there to see family. They make what they call "English toasting bread". It looks like a large loaf of white bread, but it has a unique texture that makes it toast up really nicely. No holes or anything like a muffin has, but the crunch texture when toasted is somehow similar, even after you put butter on it. It's my favorite bread to make toast with and I buy a loaf every time I go there. |

Well I decided to try to get a COVID shot appointment on Monday with three different places here close to where I live in California. Thinking that one might work out. One on line and two by voice message. Got a paper copy of the online and no response for the voice messages until yesterday. Just a text message on my phone to confirm the appointment with a local heart hospital. Conformation is done and tonight after 6 to be there for the shot. I have been waiting for the Johnson and Johnson shot to be come available but it is still a couple of weeks away. So this one will be the first of the two that is required. Now this should be something that will be less to worry about.
Quoting: joinca People here are having a lot of trouble getting one. I haven't tried so I have no experience with it, but I hear lots of stories of others registering online (in many cases several times with several places) but not actually getting appointments to receive the shot. I guess the problem is too much demand and not enough supply. Even all the first responders here haven't received it, and they are supposed to be first. It's all a mess but I hope you are successful tonight. Quoting: KickinIt Back home now. It took about 45 minutes from start to finish. Walked in and was screened for a temperature at the door. I filled out a one page brief form about allergies and such. Stepped over to a very short two person waiting line. A nurse called me up and I got the Pfizer vaccination. Steeped over to the waiting area and stayed for 15 minutes then left. Very easy and fast. They even scheduled the second shot time and day to come back. All is well.
