I'm about to head in for a nap while Baby S is asleep. My daughter and her hubby are BOTH still sick. Hubby tested negative for covid and strep, but was told he had a virus of some kind. Both their kids, a senior and freshman, are at my house so they don't get sick. Having to be up at 6 am so the senior can make football practice. Today seemed ok, but got a call at about 9:30 from the freshman's school nurse who told me Syd was in her office complaining of passing out on bus enroute to school and having strong left chest pain. Never had problems before - she's an athlete and has made the varsity track team as a freshman!! I loaded up Baby S, and spent the rest of the morning at the clinic to get Syd seen. Mom stayed in her car in the parking lot since she's still symptomatic for either a cold or flu. After covid testing - negative - and and EKG - normal - we are finally home! Can only guess it was some sort of anxiety issue.
I totally believe we are all being tested, and that some big test is coming down the road. Watching the news of the flooding across the NE, and seeing homes burning surrounded by chest-high water!!! And the pictures out of LA. And the fires in CA... OMG.
Praying that ALL of you out there stay safe and healthy. Not sure how to dodge all the trials everyone is facing, but praying you stay strong and as positive as possible.
Love and hugs from W TX!
Quoting: justanothergranny Was she worried about anything? Seems odd for a high schooler. I would do a follow-up and have her checked again, just to make sure they didn't miss anything. |

Yesterday I feel down the basement steps and dislocated my shoulder!! In the ER 2-9pm yesterday. They did a fantastic job! Had to be sedated so they could put it back. Took him 1/2 an hour. Still have lots of pain. Have follow up appointment Tuesday, will probably need mri. The spiritual warfare is at fever pitch. Thank God for my strong faith and belief that some kind of transformation is coming. Quoting: Isis One Good lord, when it rains it pours! I hate to hear this Isis, you're dealing with enough already. (Page 2) I put several of my ideas in there also. It is something to think about as winter approaches and we live in crazy times. Better to be prepared and not need it --- than to need it and not have. Here is something else we have done. I buy bulk match books on Amazon to use in the bathroom for the stinky stinks. Several of those match books have been placed in a little sandwich bag, then around it are several cotton balls (pure cotton and not the synthetic) that have petroleum jelly dabs in the middle but not touching the inside of the baggie. This is vacuum sealed together for instant fire making. I also save all used birthday candles and throw them in the vacuum sealed bags as well. It is easier to get a fire going without paper, with one of those little candles. I also use those little candles to rewick those large 3 wick candles that never burn right. I just take a metal pick, heat it up and poke into the wax a hole just a bit bigger than the tiny candle, then place the tiny candle inside and melt wax down the hole to keep in place. We no longer use vegetable shortening as it is really bad for us, instead we use lard and bacon grease. Back to the way our ancestors lived 1,000's of years. I still have 3-4 containers of Crisco. Instead of throwing out, when the time comes, they will be used as candles or a sterno type heat source. Never tried it but it is said the Crisco candle will burn for 10-20 hours. When you buy tuna, get it in oil. In the time of need, save the drained oil and the can. Viola, another candle type container in the can it came with. In fact, if my day hadn't taken such an unexpected direction, I had intended to make some firestarters using inexpensive make-up remover pads from the dollar store, jute twine and old melted candles. Maybe tomorrow. And I have pinecones to dip in wax with jute string for a wick. Lots of projects, and life just keeps getting in the way! Thanks for the post WA! I'll check out the thread...
