I know...I need to get more. I actually need to go through your thread again. Quoting: Simple27 Rice and beans are cheap. For one person you need 300 lbs of grains for one year (rice, wheat, flour, cereal, etc) and 60 lbs of legumes (beans, peas and lentils). Very boring to eat every day, but it would keep you alive. Quoting: whiteangel Thanks WA I don't eat often, so when I do I can't eat much. That would probably keep me alive for 3 years, lol. I wouldn't risk that, just playing around. : ) But Monday through Friday I barely eat. Not purposely. Due to stress mostly or that I feel sick. I know I have some issues with my health, but I'm really starting to think I might be allergic to something at my work. It really messes with me physically when I'm there and there are some new machines that have only been there for about a year. I don't know...rambling. Typing my thoughts, sorry. Haha! Quoting: Simple27 My family isn't big eaters either. I think we could go longer than the new list I posted on my prepping thread. I just updated it with you in mind. So many people get so very much overwhelmed when they try to figure out what they need. Remember there won't be any running to the store when you need comfort food. We all snack (I call it grazing for my family) which adds up more than we think it does. Some chips here, some candy there, some ice cream, or whatever it is that makes you feel better when you are stressed or sad. Those are the things you have to stock up on also. If they are missing, it will just add to the stress of the whole situation! Quoting: whiteangel Thank you for those updates. I actually printed your first two posts and saved them as a PDF on my lap top. And wanna hear something off-topic, but interesting, to me anyway?? The angel in your avatar is MUCH more noticeable when printed out. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

The virus is sending 30 children a day to a Kansas City, Missouri, hospital, where about 15% of the youngsters were placed in intensive care, officials said.In Kansas City, about 450 children were recently treated at Children's Mercy Hospital, and at least 60 of them received intensive hospitalization, spokesman Jake Jacobson said.
"It's worse in terms of scope of critically ill children who require intensive care. I would call it unprecedented. I've practiced for 30 years in pediatrics, and I've never seen anything quite like this," said Dr. Mary Anne Jackson, the hospital's division director for infectious diseases.More than 900 children have gone to Children's Hospital Colorado emergency and urgent care locations since August 18 for treatment of severe respiratory illnesses, including enterovirus and viral infections, hospital spokeswoman Melissa Vizcarra told CNN. Officials said on Sunday that flood waters had submerged at least 450 villages and triggered landslides across the valley and in neighbouring Pakistan, where more than 160 people have lost their lives and thousands others have been displaced from their homes. Rescuers in both Pakistan and Indian-administered Kashmir were using helicopters and boats to try to reach tens of thousands of people stranded in their homes as floodwaters rose and submerged many villages. More than 2,000 villages have been affected by the floodwaters in Kashmir, officials said. [ link to www.aljazeera.com] |
