Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated

Checking in and hoping all are well.

Daughter went to work at an escape room - where you have to figure out the clues given in a room before you can leave. This is the first job she has had in 2 years 5 months. She hopes she can do it - only a few hours a week.

Son just had his 3 month check up - scans and blood work clear and looking good.

Life has been a roller coaster but at least for the time being we are on the high end.

I don't think that new potential position is going to work for me. It would be a big pay cut. Not enough hours. I'm better off where I am.

Bummer! But it's great you looked into it with so much hope. Keep looking with an open mind and I know the right opportunity will come to you.

Activity Summary: Mauna Loa Volcano is not erupting.

During the past week, HVO seismometers recorded approximately 206 small-magnitude (below magnitude 3.0) earthquakes beneath the summit and upper-elevation flanks of Mauna Loa. The majority of these earthquakes occurred at shallow depths less than 9 miles (15 kilometers) below sea level.

Of the 206 earthquakes recorded over the past week, 90 were part of an earthquake swarm that occurred beneath Moku‘āweoweo, Mauna Loa’s summit caldera, from approximately 5:20 p.m. HST on August 2, 2022, until 3:00 a.m. HST on August 3, 2022. Most of these earthquakes occurred around 2 mi (3 km) below the surface and the largest event in the swarm was a magnitude-2.8. 

This activity is a relatively small increase in volcanic unrest and remains within the range of fluctuations observed over the past several years.

Because I spent quite a bit of time yesterday trying to find the original Hawaii eruption thread that I think Rev Woo-woo did, I couldn't find it despite numerous advanced searches and much reading of thread titles.
