I've had too much time to think and rethink the whole dialysis thing. I've never liked the idea of having a port. I can't tell you how much it creeps me out! I got a hysterectomy just so I wouldn't have to have chemo years ago. I know....it's weird! Quoting: Texan Buckeye Problem is, I have days where I start to chicken out. I've got another month before I go back to the doctor and if my numbers are still holding steady, it'll be put off some more. There are times I just want to scream and jump right out of my skin! I opted to do it at home. Now I'm wondering if that was a good decision. Mr. TB always says I over think things. This time I am, for sure! Look at it this way. I'm going full on nervous wreck with you! LOL We can be nutcases together! Awe, TB, I'm sorry you're dealing with all of that. You can be sure I understand the anxiety and over thinking involved. I pray your numbers are stable and you have more time for decision making. Although sometimes that extra time just causes us more worry and over thinking. It's a tough spot to be in. Go with your gut and pray. And know I'm praying for you too. You are so loved and appreciated my friend.  Don't be sorry, hon. Somehow I've known this would happen from way back. I was somewhere around jr. high when I had to go to the hospital for the first time. The thought hit me then that someday my kidneys would kill me. I've had plenty of time to get used to it. I've almost died a couple of times over the years, but for some unknown reason, I'm still here!! I'm still here for a reason that God only knows. I have no clue! LOL When I've done whatever He wants me to do here, then? Maybe. With His help, I'll handle it. They tell me there will be nurses 24/7 that I can call to walk us through any glitches, so it's not like I'll be all alone trying to hook myself up to the contraption! I just get squirmy thinking about it. Good thing I didn't get accepted for nursing training in time, years ago! We had moved out of state by the time I got the letter. I have good days and not so good days right now. Thankfully, I'm not having truly bad days yet. I just really hate that I get too tired every day. I'm starting to wonder if it's going to make enough of a difference to be worth it. You know? Oh well, enough of my derail. I'm ok for now. I just wanted you to know that I really understand how you feel about medical stuff. You can ALWAYS pm me to cry on my shoulder, if you want. I've found it makes things easier when I help someone else deal with their problems. I don't think so much about my own. It'll be ok for both of us hon, one way or another. Promise! My sister had to do peritoneal dialysis at home. I had trouble even thinking about it, but she managed quite well until her spine started crumbling from other meds she had been put on. After ending up in the hospital for quite a while, she had to have a regular port put in and is now doing regular dialysis. Unfortunately, she can't do it at home and has to go to the dialysis center daily. You can do whatever is necessary. That's just the kind of person you are. I have no doubts. I'm just sorry you are having to go through all this. From what my sister has gone through, I know it's no cake walk. You remain in my prayers. Your sister has been through a lot health-wise, it seems. I hate that anyone has to deal with any sort of dialysis. I can't imagine having to do that daily! I feel for her. Fingers crossed for TB that her numbers are good at the next dr. appt. |

Looking at around 5 days with 100+ temps to come.
