I check one of the threads every so often. The info they post seems pretty consistent and legit. Not just daily UV readings, but linking to lots of informative and scientific documents. I agree that being cautious about what gets posted here is wise. But something abnormal is going on, based on personal observation and several internet groups I follow, mostly gardening sites. Some fairly consistent posts about unusual gardening results in many areas of the country, as well as gardeners who are out in the sun a lot commenting about differences they've noticed when spending time in the sun. Or not being able to spend as much time exposed. It's something each individual should take time to assess and investigate for themself.
Quoting: justanothergranny I definitely agree that the sun as a whole feels stronger compared to when I was a kid. It's much more intense. It doesn't surprise me at all gardening results are wonky, because the weather everywhere is wonky. All these extremes. No more easing from one season into another. My neighbor was just talking to me about her plant struggles this summer and it was definitely due to the weather. Here we started out primarily cool and very wet/not much sun for a prolonged period followed by extreme dry heat and full burning sun for a prolonged period. Plants don't know what the hell is going on. |

Glad to see that the job change has moved past the "being ugly" stage! Hate that you will be on here less, but quite understand! And SOOOOO glad for the change you're making! I really feel like it's the best thing you can do!
Staying very busy here - gardening, bookwork to get ready for income taxes on 10/15, and heading to the condo Sunday. Have had major remodel work going on on the exterior and am ready to see the new look in person! Am ready to get away for a bit.
Grandson is doing pretty well. Looks like he has finally landed a job - he is really excited. Waiting on the background check, but they are aware of his history. So really hope he gets hired.
Glad everyone seems to be doing ok on here. Just hate to hear that WA's asthma is giving her such fits!
Love & hugs from W TX! We are finally green - and my allergies are going nuts! But glad that it looks so good here for a change!
Quoting: justanothergranny Asthma was better today! 40 degree drop in temp and clearer skies really helped. We went from shorts and tank tops to sweater weather in 24 hours. Actually to cool front came in just after midnight. Quoting: WhiteAngel Glad to hear! Am ready for cooler weather!!! Up in the 90's here today. But garden is going great guns!!!
