PALM COAST --
The National Weather Service is expected to assess the scene in Flagler County after a possible tornado touch down Saturday evening.
A news conference is set for 9 a.m. at Palm Coast City Offices, located at 160 Cypress Point Parkway. News 13 will carry it LIVE.
A city spokesperson said 53 homes are still without power. Florida Power and Light said they hope to have power restored by noon.
There is extensive damage in the “B” section of the city where six or seven homes had significant damage.
On Bannerwood Lane, a roof section was torn off and lies across the street.
Mail boxes were crushed, streets signs are on the ground and a basketball hoop is now sitting in a ditch.
Power lines are twisted, with some on the ground and others low hanging.
Trees and brush are scattered everywhere in yards on streets.
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office forced our crew out, deeming the area as unsafe.
Emergency leaders said sections “F” and “C” also had major damage.
Residents said it sounded like a train. They heard a loud noise and then an explosion.
The National Weather Service will determine if a tornado did touch down and how powerful it was.
A resident said the storm pushed her car a few feet in a driveway.
Thankfully, no major injuries have been reported.
