Re: Earthquake Alert~Always Updated*5.3 Santa Cruz Islands*5.0 Japan ~ Pg 12139
LET'S GO BACK 7 YEARS AGO...

Two Russian mathematicians have caused a stir in the normally staid world of theoretical physics.

Irina Aref'eva and Igor Volovich have not only proposed a mechanism for time travel, but they have given it a timetable as well. The pair, from the Steklov Mathematical Institute in Moscow, has been speculating on what might happen when the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is switched on.

The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) is expected to commission the LHC in May 2008. It will smash protons together at speeds previously unobtainable. Each proton will have the same kinetic energy as a flying mosquito, but that energy will be concentrated into one a trillionth of a mosquito's volume.

Collision like this can do very strange things to the fabric of the universe known as space-time. Space-time can bend and distort into loops that physicists call "closed time-like curves," known to sci-fi fans as "wormholes in space-time" or just "wormholes."

Thought This Was Interesting Given All The Events That Are Taking Place In The NOW.

NOW 8 YEARS AGO...

"As the Cernier company prepares to test the world’s largest supercollider physicists express concern that too much is being left to chance..... tiny black holes could be produced which hopefully would decay into what is known as Hawking radiation (the tinier the black hole, the faster it evaporates). If these black holes fail to decay, however, the consequences could be disasterous. CERN software developer Ran Livneh has expressed some concerns about the project:

This physical realm is unknown, and dangerous phenomena might arise. Any physicist will tell you that there is no way to prove that generated black holes will decay..."

I Found This Thread To Be Very Interesting...There Was A Lot Going On Surrounding CERN, And I Believe There Still Should Be Concern Given All The Things That Are Aligning. Kind Of Cool To Go Back In Time. :)

Today I sorted through a large pile of old National Geographic's. It was so interesting and sad as well to see the old concerns we had for things like Acid Rain, living with Radiation, political unrest, etc. All these issues brought forth - mentioned, put out for public learning - never acted upon.

I mean what ever happened to Acid Rain - it just stopped?
Its the same with these worries we have about Cern, the Gulf of Mexico, environmental sustainability. etc.

I felt puny and small about how nothing has really BEEN DONE, and still he we are - still "talking" about things - things we shouldn't mess with and things we should take care of . . .

I love the old National Geographic Stuff...I also love looking at things from the past and seeing how things have transpired. Fascinating and scary.

I know Little Bird, it is kind of sad isn't it. I think many patterns and signs are coming at us at increasing speed. We must continue to stay aware, pray and love one another.

SW, The part that is sad for me personally is we could have made choices in the 70's and 80's that would have made our human impact on this planet smaller and more efficient - WE KNEW - even back then we could do a better job.

The part that was most interesting to me though, is human beings really have not changed that much in the 40 or so years worth of scattered National Geographic's I was looking through.

I found two really cool things though - I want to go drive the Oregon Trail I have always been very interested in it. Yesterday I was in an antique shop (in Florida) and found a Oregon Trail Journal published in 1949! And today going through the stack found an issue with an article and pictures of the trail as well.

I wasn't even trying to find this stuff - its coming to me - solidifying my bucket list desire to retrace that old trail. Its like a personal message to me - a message of Love from the Higher Power that I am seen and my wants can be met. Its a small step anyway.

This is awesome Little Bird. I love it when things fall into place or when something is pulling at you. Many people, unfortunately are not paying attention or just not awake enough to understand the message that is being given to them.

I think that is amazing about your interest in The Oregon Trail and the gifts that were given to you to help you follow through with your journey of the Oregon Trail. Absolutely Awesome. It is meant to be! Thanks for sharing that.

I have big dreams of turning my van into my own modern covered wagon! LOL I am going to take photography classes this year as I finally, finally, finally go back to college. I'd like to make that part of the adventure and document my journey. I have no idea why its so much in me, and has always been. Genetic memory maybe, though my relatives that I know of did not undertake the journey - perhaps someone they knew did and it imprinted.

I want to at least cover Nebraska and Wyoming!!

I remember going to part or the Oregon Trail as a kid. It was some school field trip. Was like 3 hours on a bus, we spent and hour there and 3 hours back. It was boring as Hell. This was in the early 90s, so not like we have ipods or smart phones to play games on. We sung and card games broke out. I listened to the new M.C. Hammer tape, side A and B about 3 times over.

Sorry Simple I am so far OFF TOPIC -

I think we can all agree field trips suck. As a matter of fact I am keeping my 5th grader home with me on Tuesday so he can avoid going on one. I hated them. He hates them. I let him opt out. I am probably a weird mom, we do in fact do the public school thing - but - I don't completely play "the game" - I remember my own experience too well to buy completely into it. Yes, Rebel Yell.

I realize my desire to go do this trail thing is not for everybody. LOL I don't know what I expect to find out there either - but its something I want to do.
