We are hoping they are glitches. If not they are signals and usually within 12 to 48 hours there is a large quake.

Quotes are messing up again. sorry

Vancouver after the big one: 7.3-magnitude earthquake would kill nearly 10,000 and injure 128,000, experts say

The scenario — a shallow earthquake of magnitude 7.3 directly beneath the city — was chosen to provide the basis for drafting an emergency earthquake plan.

The scenario sees about 30 per cent of Metro Vancouver buildings damaged by the temblor — 18 per cent suffering extensive damage and 12 per cent being catastrophically damaged.

The death toll is estimated at nearly 10,000, with more than 128,000 injuries.

Nearly 100,000 people would have to flee their homes and require short-term shelter, many of them downtown.

The scale of the human disaster is among the first such estimates for Metro Vancouver, as governments grapple with how to prepare for the severe earthquake scientists predict is coming for British Columbia.

WhiteAngel,
Or anyone really that might know. I haven't found anything on the internet. This is random I know.

When I was a teen, my grandparents had and RV. One particular Summer, I believe it was in 1993. We went all around the interior west. We were in one of following states, Utah, South Dakota, Wyoming, or Colorado. Though I think it was in South Dakota or Wyoming. Because we were going to see family in both states that month. Also going to Devils Tower, Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse.

We were in the middle of nowhere. You know, no GPS at the time. But grandpa was told about this place. Took us 3 days to find it. It was a tiny town in a valley. I remember it being high desert. You know, some pines but for sure not up in the woods or the Rockies. Over looking the valley was a small mountain or large hill. Very distinct and by itself. At night on the very top was a very big, lit up white statue of Mother Mary. Or some religious person. for sure a woman though. The hill was tall enough and the statue was large enough to ben see about 3 miles away in all directions. It was a regional destination. Any ideas?

I don't think so. I looked all through the site and then image searched 'The House of Mary Shrine'. It's been driving me nuts all weekend. The statue was atop a large hill or small mountain. Something that if you were to hike would take you a day. Something like 500 to 800 foot tall.

Thank you for the link though.

Yeah, I almost sure we weren't in Montana. That would have been way out of our way to see anything. And my grandpa loved things like ghost towns, mines, or even caves. So yeah, I would have remembered the copper mine. On a side note, the Summer we stayed a week in Carlsbad. Went to the caves three days in a row. Then the other couple days we just drove about the region seeing little tourist traps. Grandpa had his little Honda Civic in tow.

My grandpa must not have know about the pit mine. Or we would have went to get as close as we could. I also had all my facts wrong. It's not out in the middle of nowhere. On well. I was a kid, forgive me. We didn't have the internet back then either. Well you know, not Wifi and smart phones. The internet was stuck at home. LOL

Thank you JazzyG and bigD111.

So bigD111, turned out we were in Montana. My bad. Hey I was like 13. All I cared about was once we stopped at an RV spot, hitting the pool, looking for girls and a snack machine. It was also nice to find the rare basketball hoop at a park now and then. The KOA parks were always good at having at least a paved marked half court.

It probably looked alot different then Deano. The world has built up fast during the last couple of decades or so. You remember a completely different place than it is now.

The last time I went to Gatlinburg, I was floored. It was absolutely NOTHING like it was just 15 years earlier. So built up and commercialized, it wasn't even worth going to anymore.

A true warrior fights not because he hates the one in front of him, but because he loves those behind him.

WhiteAngel,
Or anyone really that might know.

Any ideas?
