I have to share one of the creepiest/scariest moments that happened just a little while ago. I am counting my blessings that I just so happened to be watching this time...for no real reason.
My daughter got home from cheering practice. Tonight is her last night of freedom before school starts on Thursday so I told her she could sleep at her friend's house tonight. She was with this friend when she got home from practice (which is right across the street).
Her friend's mom was going to pick them up at a little pizza place that is right around the corner from my house. I can literally see it from my window/front stairs. She was picking them up there because she's never been to my house and the main road is easier for a landmark.
Anyway, so my daughter and her friend were starting to walk over towards the pizza place. I don't usually watch her walk to where she's going when it's that close, she's with a friend and the cheerleaders/football players all just got out of practice so there were people around.
For whatever reason I did watch tonight. I was sitting on my front porch and just after they crossed the street towards the school a little red sports car pulled up kind of in front of my house, but on the other side of the street. I was thinking that maybe they knew my daughter or her friend. But as the girls continued to walk across the school parking lot towards the street that we live off of, the car pulled away from where it parked and took a right into the school parking lot (exactly towards where the girls were right after stopping once right where they were).
My oblivious young daughter noticed nothing. When I saw the car pull into the school parking lot towards them I yelled her name. She turned around facing me and I yelled 'do you know who that car is?'
She yells back no so I say okay keep walking. The car then pulled up right near them and stopped. WTF?! I yelled over again and told her to start walking back towards the house. I then started walking towards them. The car drove off but circled the general area (not my specific street) at least 4 more times.
VERY SCARY! My daughter kept saying she was so glad that I was watching. It freaked her and her friend out almost as much as it freaked me out.
I hope she at least learned something tonight.
