It's really getting bad. I have to move my car...

I know. They cancelled my daughter's classes today at her college. Thank God she checked her email before she headed in. At times,it's been like a monsoon out here! I pray hubby and son don't have any problems getting home from work. :(

Stay safe my friend. hf
 Quoting: ScarlettOHell

You stay safe as well, and hope everyone gets home without problems. hf

Thank you for your kind words. Greatly appreciated! hf

You stay safe too! They cancelled my daughter's cheering practice for tonight. Luckily we both stayed home today. She's being a major pain in my butt, but I'm glad she's with me.

The rain has calmed down here for now, at least, but we've had some bursts of heavy winds. A couple of trees across our cement pond (lake) look like they're ready to keel over into the water. Thankfully, they're little trees. rofl

Glad you and your daughter are home today. Crazy weather here today, and this is just a sample of what is yet to come, I fear. ahhh

 Quoting: Simple27

You might want to temporarily make a change from 'ride the wave' to 'sandbag the wave' or 'hang ten' chuckle

Hang in there sister!

hf

Sorry - trying to make light of something potentially dire.

Be safe. Did you move your car at work? Or are you home?
 Quoting: Birkeland

Lol, no need to apologize. Got caught up with my little pain in the butt who thought today would be a good day to take her iPhone apart to fix the camera. And has no clue what she's doing so naturally it became my aggravation.

We're home today. The water was getting high right out front where my car was so I just moved it into the driveway.

For now it has stopped raining but by the looks of the clouds it will start again soon. The water has lowered since that video I posted. I can see the sidewalk again.

This is probably going to get pretty bad over the next few days or so. : (

Cars driving through it literally did make waves. I might go with sandbag the wave. tounge
 Quoting: Simple27

High tides last two days right? But you aren't that close to the beach to be affected by high tides correct?
 Quoting: Birkeland

Correct. It's about a 5 minute drive from my house. : )

Same here. The sun is actually coming out and all of the water is gone now. Phew! Definitely didn't need more coming down on top of what was there.

Hopefully your little trees with survive what's headed our way for the next several days. I also fear the same.

That thread is kind of giving me the willies. I wonder why the sirens were set off, but nothing happened then, but 12-14 hours later, an earthquake hit them with no warning at all. Oy!

this fema drill is interesting....

worst case scenario drill, hurricane slams east coast and then 7.8 EARTHQUAKE HITS PUERTO RICO, then a tsunami slams east coast...crazy drill

A 7.8 magnitude earthquake originating from the Bunce fault line, just 70 miles from San Juan,
Puerto Rico struck yesterday, during our broadcast, and generated a massive tsunami that made
impact on the East Coast. Its primary and catastrophic impact is being felt from Florida to North
Carolina.

My house is the second to last house on my street. My end of the street is already flooding. The water is up over the sidewalk in front of my neighbor's house (the last house on the street).

This is not good. :\
 Quoting: Simple27

Now now, you say a couple of days ago you weren't worried about the rain, your area could handle it..... lol

Seriously, be safe
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

You don't understand- what they are saying that we're supposed to be getting, and what we are getting, are two different things! 1.9 inches, my butt- we've already surpassed that and more rain is on the way! AAAARRRGGGHHHHH.....

Simple, best to you, hope it slows down in your area.
 Quoting: ScarlettOHell

Their forecast seemed way off compared to what people were really getting.

Now with it being maybe a cat.2 and hitting land this could turn out to be a gusher, stay safe all.
