Edward Czajka shared this aerial drone footage of the aftermath of last week's mudslides along Highway 58 in Kern County.
The video was taken Saturday morning between Tehachapi and Mojave, Czajka said.
A rare tropical downpour last Thursday resulted in severe mudslides and flooding on area freeways, including Hwy. 58 and Interstate 5 over the Grapevine.
Hwy. 58 remains closed, but I-5 opened Friday.
A spokeswoman for the California Department of Transportation told The Associated Press on Monday that they hope to open Hwy. 58 by this coming Thursday.
Dozens of vehicles were left stuck in the mud after last week's storms. The last of the vehicles have been pulled out of the mud and debris, according to the AP.
One man was reported missing after the storm.
Richard Harvell, of Boron, was last seen being swept away in a river of mud and sand in the area of 150th Street West and Highgate Avenue.
