THE SAD TIMES WE LIVE IN...Governor orders study on injection well alternatives
She wants to find a way to recycle the waterGeological Survey show more earthquakes in Oklahoma than any other place in the world. More than 5,000 earthquakes have been recorded this year.
On Tuesday, Governor Mary Fallin announced that she formed a fact-finding group to look into underground disposal wells, which is now linked to the increase in earthquakes.
The Water for 2060 Produced Water Working Group will try to finds ways to recycle or reuse the water instead of injecting it into the underground wells.

SPOT-ON COMMENT:Fact finding? Its a bit late for that. You can't treat this water and reuse it for agriculture! Most of it is toxic with heavy metals and God knows what else.
The article does show, over 44, BILLION gallons of water have been injected into the ground in 2014 alone, the damage is done, and probably permanent.
It is obvious to me, this woman is all for business, even at the cost of destroying the state she was elected to protect!___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
“Opening appropriate and environmentally responsible avenues for beneficial use of reclaimed produced water will require coordination across industry sectors and regulatory agencies,” said Fallin, who made the announcement during the 36th annual Oklahoma Governor’s Water Conference and Research Symposium underway in Norman.
“In addition to the opportunities to save fresh water by reusing and recycling oil- and gas-produced water, I’m equally interested in looking at alternatives to deep well disposal of this resource,” Fallin said. “What a win-win for all if we can turn wasted water into a useful resource, while at the same time reducing seismic activity caused by deep well injection.”
Underground injection wells have been linked to recent earthquakes in Oklahoma, leading the state Corporation Commission to reduce disposal volumes in certain areas.
On Monday, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 3:49 a.m. west-southwest of Medford in Grant County. Eight earthquakes of magnitude 4.2 or greater have occurred in that area this year. Oklahoma has had more than 600 earthquakes of 3.0 magnitude or greater in 2015, easily a record.

I MUST SAY SHE HAS MADE SO MANY PEOPLE FEEL SAFE AND SECURE IN THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA...:sw_tailsmack:
TICK-TOCK...TIME IS RUNNING OUT!!! :(
SCARY TIMESCOMMENTS FROM THE ARTICLE:"Cheaper just to hire Pa. officials to spend a week here and show us how they managed to do it. It will take more than a day sense our folks seem rather dense and slow to understand new concepts."
"Is Failin really that stupid? Nearly all produced water from O & G ops is saltwater. Why does she think they pay so much to inject it thousands of feet down into sealed (supposedly) zones or strata. And all the stuff used in fracing is heavily contaminated with chemicals and compounds that the industry doesn't have to reveal because they were exempted from the Clean Water Act under Geo W! This is for delay and cover because there is no way you can irrigate anything with poison!!"
"Whats the hurry Gov. Mary(no back bone)Fallin.....you are just 4 years late listening to "we the people" of Oklahoma. Only when a light was shined on the oil and gas companies, and earthquakes might damage Cushing, did you do anything...slowly...I might add."
"Translation: how can I do nothing and keep big oil happy, but make make everyone else think I'm doing something."
