i'm having that weird (and stupid) feeling that the next big one will be on a weekend.

Pretty sure Japan 2011 was on a saturday and I woke up to the news.

It has many listings and it is off of Copper Mountain Road.
It shows to be a Copper mine.
Haven't there been "Explosion" EQ listings here before?

Had and having a good hail storm now. I took a video. Take some time to upload. It spits hail now and then. I wish I went out now and not 20 min ago to take the video. It looks like it snowed now. My SD card is plugged in, uploading, so I can't take a pic. Been going on about 20 minutes. It's windy as well and in the low 40s.

Yes, I've seen 'explosions' listed before. I believe that was the new way they were going to list fracking eq's...to differentiate between real ones and ones caused by fracking. That was a while ago so I don't remember the exact details.

The video. Not that dramatic, compared to Midwest hail. But pretty good for the northwest. It went on, like a rain shower for a good 20 min.

Anyways, it Friday and drinking time. I'm thinking beef tacos for dinner and some homemade gauce.

Letter: Geologist questions government’s handling of seismicity

Oklahoma Corporation Commission has known for long time that high volume disposal wells cause earthquakes. OCC’s Commissioner Dana Murphy knew published seismicity science, peer-reviewed reports detailing Prague and other Oklahoma quakes are being caused by disposal wells. In my opinion, they have declined to be honest with the public.

On Matt Skinner’s recent Enid News & Eagle quotes, correction needed: OCC did not focus on Medford until after the Tulsa World and Energy and Environmental Policy News labeled Medford as Oklahoma’s earthquake capital.

Murphy and Skinner for years have used their press releases as cover-ups, saying to the effect that “Solutions are at hand,” and “We need more studies” and “OCC is making progress!”

But the earthquakes keep getting stronger!

"I have never heard or read of state Sen. Anderson or state Rep. Pfeiffer (he voted for Senate Bill 809:made legal drilling inside any city’s limits), plus Oklahoma House Speaker Hickman, ever stating publicly any concerns or involvement with earthquakes issues until 2016." ~Bob Jackman, a petroleum geologist and former U.S. and international oil and gas operator.

You are further north but the Jet stream from yours area tends to dip to us! Your storm is bringing colder air and a little snow for us starting tomorrow night. Then a 2nd system comes in from SoCa on Sunday and gives us a little more and drops our temps to the 30's - we were 62 today. Then a 3rd one rolls in, also coming in from SoCa and that is the one they are watching carefully. Could drop a foot or more of snow!
