I'm making potato soup! Last time I tried it, I was tasting it before adding the roux and it was delicious. Then I made the roux, added it and the whole pot of soup turned bitter, no idea why, no trick would fix it, had to dump the whole thing out. This time, I'm not adding the roux. We'll see how it tastes. I love making homemade soup in the winter.
Quoting: Isis One It is always so goooooooodddddddddddddddd! I love good soup! Quoting: bigD111 I don't know what roux is so have never used it when making potato soup and it is always good. Lol, looked it up and found out I do that all the time. Just melt a little butter and add flour, viola. For potato soup I don't do that. I just take out half the potatoes when almost done and let the rest cook till they are falling apart. This thickens the soup without the flour. Quoting: WhiteAngel Ok WA, you are busted!!! You do make soup!!! deplorably republican |
