Re: Earthquake Alert~Always Updated*5.5 Fiji Islands*5.0 Kermadec Islands ~ Pg 11768
Melting ice and shifting rain patterns are causing the north and south poles to drift.

The north pole is on the run. Although it can drift as much as 10 meters across a century, sometimes returning to near its origin, it has recently taken a sharp turn to the east. Climate change is the likely culprit, yet scientists are debating how much melting ice or changing rain patterns affect the pole’s wanderlust.

The geographical poles—the north and south tips of the axis that the Earth spins around—wobble over time due to small variations in the sun’s and moon’s pulls, and potentially to motion in Earth’s core and mantle. But changes on the planet’s surface can alter the poles, too. They wobble with every season as the distribution of snow and rain change, and over long stretches as well. Roughly 10,000 years ago, for example, Earth woke up from a deep freeze and the massive ice sheets sitting atop what is now Canada melted. As ice mass fled, and the depressed crust rebounded, the distribution of the planet’s mass changed and the north pole started to drift west.

Around 2000 the pole took an eastward turn; it stopped drifting toward Hudson Bay, Canada, and started drifting along the Greenwich meridian in the direction of London.

I love gooseberry. Makes the best jam ever!!! Used to have a long hedgerow of them. I would can many jars, like 50, but they never lasted longer than 3-4 months in the family. They loved it better than grape jam that I also put up. Apricot jam, well, that made more, about 100 jars and lasted longer. I always used a low sugar recipe and oh my goodness, it was wonderful

Two rare earthquake fish were thrown out of the water after a ' mud volcano ' erupted off the coast of Taiwan.

The volcano erupted early Thursday morning in the city of Pingtung following a 5.6-magnitude earthquake .

Fishermen were delighted to find the oarfish, also known as earthquake fish, both measuring 4.4 metres - twice as long as beanpole footballer Peter Crouch - and weighing a whopping seven stone.

Four eruption mouths were spotted in a paddy field in Wandan Town and the hot slurry almost destroyed the whole field.

Hi peeps! Checking in and getting caught up. Helluva week at work - didn't even look at my EQ app at all today. When I first checked upon arriving home, was surprised to see it was fairly quiet today. Then saw those spikes and realized there is probably more to come. Time will tell...

Heading to my first baseball game of the season tonight. woo hoo! Beautiful evening for it too, as long as the rain holds off. Hope everyone has a great evening!
