Good evening to everyone and happy holiday weekend!

Simple, sorry to hear you have to work on Monday :( Also sorry it will be in the 90's where you are tomorrow - yuck. Super humid here, but we're still staying in the lower 80's. Feels like 90 though, so I can empathize with you.
 Quoting: KickinIt

hi Hi Kickin : )

Yes, tomorrow is going to be quite uncomfortably hot and humid. Yesterday and today were hot too, but not like tomorrow's gonna be. I'll just stay home with my air conditioning tomorrow. I was gonna go up to my parents' camp for the day tomorrow, but it's gonna be storming and too hot so I'm staying home. I need a day of 100% relaxation in a BAD way so tomorrow is perfect!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Ugh, thinking of camping in that heat reminds me of the days my gang would do a summer float trip every year. After a day of canoeing down the river in July or August, complete exhaustion and drunkenness was the only way I could sleep in stifling heat in a tent.

If I remember right, Mini You is going on the camping trip, so enjoy your solo day of relaxation! stoner

Luckily my parents have a really nice trailer with central air, but it doesn't make sense to drive up there just to sit in the trailer and those psychos will be sitting outside around a fire. Yes, even in 90+ degrees. Gross. I just can't do it lol.

Yup, mini is there now with them. This will be the first weekend in soooo long that I won't hear 'mom, will you drive me here...mom, will you pick me up...mom, can I have some money...mom, can so and so sleep over' etc. etc. etc. Haha! I will miss her little face though. : )

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated*5.5 Afghanistan ~ Pg 20354
So many areas around the world where the plates are dropping into mantle. Means major movement is taking place, the Earth is taking in, and it will give out somewhere. I honestly think this is leading up to a subduction quake somewhere--the fact all this is happening around the globe in the areas you would expect to see the plate drops means room is clearing up for the plates to slip and fall back into place for it's next big shake.

Not sure whos aware of it, and I know I've been going on about it lol. The lines where you see the plates converging (subuction zones) are not always where the plate ends. You have to look at the mountain areas(esp if there's volcanoes present, that's where the land on top pushes up and the plate down below drops. Pull up the last 30 days of 2.5 or greater and look at all the mountain areas along subducting plates, Alaska is a great example because you can follow the mountains and understand what I mean. Looking down at Chile/Argentina you can see the plate break'n'drops, and the smaller mid size subduction movements off the coast.

Take all that in mind and watch nor Cal (left to right) from the coast to the mountains--from the northern tip of the state line all the way down to Mendocino National Forest. At the moment I wouldn't be surprised if Eureka California got another decent size quake like they did in 2010.
