I'm gonna admit I'm watching the second half of that Jon Benet Ramsey special on cbs right now. First half was last night. I have to say it's fascinating! They have this group of experts (in every possible area-forensics, linguistics, child crimes...) who basically have gone over the entire case with a fine tooth comb. It's so interesting. I gather they don't point the finger at the end-they want to just present the facts snd let them speak for themselves, but the way things are going they might not have to anyway.
 Quoting: KickinIt

Don't have tv so can't watch but I always had suspicions her brother did it out of jealousy...idk.
 Quoting: JazzyG

Yep that's pretty much it. And then an elaborate cover up by the parents. What they were able to do in some of their investigating was quite cool. And I saw footage and learned details I never knew of before. Like the extensive cover up on behalf of the D.A. as well. There was so much fuckedupness about it all. I'm glad I watched it. It's nice to have some closure!
 Quoting: KickinIt

Kind of cool to know my radar was on target. I only followed it right after it happened but he was the only suspect that made sense with the clues they had at the time.

That must be the same special that was on last week! My mom was all into it and told me all about it. It sounds really good!

I didn't know it was on again this week. I would've liked to have watched it. Shucks!

Wait, what? The way my mom talked about it (the special) it doesn't sound like the brother (then 9 years old?) could've done all that was done to her.

I'm not sure how far into the special you are so I don't want to mention specifics that my mom mentioned.

Then again, I haven't seen it. And the DNA would be a tricky situation since they're siblings. Although it could be different. Tricky.

I need to watch the special!

This one was 4 hours total. It was a group of like 8 experts and they go over every detail of the entire case. They do simulations, reenactments. Even built a replica of the house on the inside. It was cool. I recommend it if you're into crime solving like me.

Ohhhh very cool! And yes, I am into this stuff. My mom said the special she saw was an hour long each night, but I forget how many nights she said it was on. It also had to do with a lot of new experts. Like a cold case series, but real life. She said it's on demand, but we have different providers. I'll have to check though. Glad you mentioned it because I was very interested when my mom told me about the one she watched last week.

The world is a scary place and despite the heartaches and sadness, we must discover our true courage and strength...*The reality we live in is filled with barriers that seem insurmountable. The sadness, pain, and suffering that exists in every part of this world. It doesn't matter if it is at our doorstep or on the other side of the world...we are all connected to this reality in one way or another. I wanted to share these videos for a reason...*

The world is a scary place and sooner or later EVERYONE runs up against a brick wall...and EVERYTHING grinds to a halt. We all suffer...no one escapes that. Loud sobs echo in our empty hearts during the harder times, but we must remind ourselves that we were built tough to take on anything in this life. To learn, to grow, and become during the worst of times. We must be true to ourselves and be brave enough to rebuild our lives after suffering profound personal losses. We have enormous strength and capabilities in reserve ready to be used when needed....it is up to you to find it within yourself and BELIEVE. Be hopeful and recognize that real courage is having the strength to overcome in a world full of obstacles, challenges, and heartaches...NO MATTER WHAT. You must be willing to sacrifice for what truly matters in your life, not the illusions that are put in your face day in and day out. Life is precious with every moment good and bad passing us by. Never take this life and the people who are in it for granted. You been given this life as a gift and the people in your life are there for a reason. Never lose your faith in the gifts you have been given. Always be true to yourself and true to your word.

I remember those vids SW. The PTSD those folks must have must be unimaginable. Trauma like that does a massive number on you. The only thing that must help is that they all experienced it and the healing may be accelerated by how many shared the event. (as opposed to one person experiencing a trauma by themselves.)

I await the tipping of the scales, the zero point. In THAT world, all the Armies around the world will be retro-fitted into World Peace and Rescue efforts. I'll happily volunteer the rest of my life to that mission. The consciousness is almost there for it to be successful and not some variation on the same effed up shit they do now.
