Hey guys, thought this was interesting. If you pan around, you will see something that looks like the moon but who knows opposite the sun, but if you look at the sun, then look between the lens flares on the left and zoom....is that a meteor? Satellite? Any clues? Thanks

It is the moon. Was looking at it a few hours ago and yes opposite of the rising sun in the western sky. Been watching it in the early am since full moon since I am up at 5:30am week days.

Nvm. You are talking about above the sun btw rays? Just lens flare to me, idk. Moon is further to the left of sun

Yes there was an object to the left between the lens flares going out to 10 o clock, you have to zoom, and it was moving upon refresh much faster than the lens flares.

Thanks for the opposite side clarification, thought it was the moon as well but wasn't sure

It was between the really bright flare and the yellowish flare when I first saw it. Now it has moved left a bit. Still could be a secondary flare or something, just haven't seen that before and I check out the sun on this sight often - thanks for the input

Re: Earthquake Alert~Always Updated
Hope all are doing well. hi

Saw the GI doctor yesterday and will have and upper and lower endoscopy done in hopes they can figure out why I am having severe abdominal pain off and on since Dec. Hoping they can fit me in on Friday but who knows when it will really happen. It will be done at the hospital with the possibility of just using general anesthesia as I almost always come up out of the light sedation usually used for a colonoscopy - seems I have kinky intestines lol - and in severe pain. Never had the upper done, just glad I will be out.

Personally, I think most of this has to do with the gallbladder removal followed by a hernia repair a year later. There are certain issues that fall into the category of TMI but I think it is effecting my liver and too much bile being produced. The GI doesn't agree - of course. She is convinced without even seeing me that it is an ulcer. Had one of those when I was 12 and I know what ulcer pain is - this is different. Most like the gallbladder attacks before I had that damned thing out.

Anyway, God willing, the problem will be found and fix and pain will be over.

I hope you get to feeling better very soon and they remedy the problem quickly for you. You've been having to deal with so much lately. Prayers for you. hugs

Region 2644 Returns

Old region 2644, the source of 7 M-Class solar flares earlier this month, is now beginning to turn back into view off the east limb. There will be an increased chance for minor C-Flares. We will get a better look at the region over the next 24-48 hours. It should be noted that the region will be renumbered to 2651. Image below courtesy of SDO/HMI.

ACTIVE SUNSPOT RETURNS: During the late hours of April 17th, something hurled a plume of hot gas over the eastern limb of the sun. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory photographed the splash: [link to spaceweather.com]

The source of this activity is probably returning sunspot AR2644. In early April the active region produced a series of M-class solar flares and shortwave radio blackouts. Now, following a two week trip around the farside of the sun, AR2644 is due to return. Amateur astronomers with solar telescopes are encouraged to monitor the sun's eastern limb for signs of the old sunspot. If it returns with any of its old potency, solar flare activity could increase sharply in the days ahead.
