the energy man.. its real this evening/night and yesterday the rain is kicking in HEAVY alongside thunder after hot days.
Not unusual per se but This year definitely feels more extreme than last couple of years to me.

There is a reason I check out this thread frequently...

Rescheduled for tomorrow morning...

NASA Sounding Rocket will Release Early Morning Artificial Clouds Lighting up the Mid-Atlantic Coast May 31

Update 12:45 p.m., May 30 – The launch of a Terrier-Improved Malemute sounding rocket testing a new deployment system to support space studies originally scheduled for May 31 has been delayed until June 1. The launch window remains 4:27 – 4:42 a.m. EDT. The launch has been delayed because of weather. Clear skies are required for the launch. Blue-green and red artificial clouds that will be produced as part the test may be seen from New York to North Carolina.

The vapor tracers are formed through the interaction of barium, strontium and cupric-oxide. The tracers will be released at altitudes 96 to 124 miles high and pose absolutely no hazard to residents along the mid-Atlantic coast.

The vapor tracers could be visible from New York to North Carolina and westward to Charlottesville, Virginia.

I don't know if we're still skipping over the EQs under 3, but I thought I'd post these, simply because it feels like in the last 24 hours or so Cali has been shaking more.

I've never posted all of the 2's just because that would take way too much time and the majority of 2's aren't usually notable. I do try to post the ones that I consider notable in the 2 range inside the US, but I often miss the patterns developing in that lower mag range because I tend to overlook them, so it's helpful when others notice patterns, regardless of magnitude range, and share them.

And it doesn't bother me at all if you (or anyone) posts any 2 mag quakes. I just wouldn't be able to keep up with everything (on and off of GLP) if I tried to post all of them. : )

Definitely makes sense. When I've posted for longer periods on weekend mornings, I usually just post them all simply because I can. But I agree, there's usually too many to try and keep up with every single one.

The funny thing is, I've never noticed that you only post the little ones if they are in notable places! Shows how observant I am! Although I check the quake list multiple times daily, so in my defense I'm not always looking at every single quake posted here unless I haven't looked at an EQ site all day.

It works out well because no matter how late I stay up on the weekends, I will get up early. And I usually have nothing but time, so I will post all the quakes while I wake up and have coffee. You tend to sleep later (jealous), so it works out well :)

This is revolutionary. The implications are huge.
We do not learn from history because our studies are brief and prejudiced. In a surprising manner, 250 years emerges as the average length of national greatness. This average has not varied for 3,000years. The stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be:
The Age of Pioneers , The Age of Conquests ,The Age of Commerce ,The Age of Affluence ,The Age of Intellect ,The Age of Decadence.
Decadence is marked by: Defensiveness, Pessimism, Materialism,Frivolity An influx of foreigners The Welfare State A weakening of religion. Decadence is due to: Too long a period of wealth and power, Selfishness Love of money ,The loss of a sense of duty.
The life histories of great states are amazingly similar, and are due to internal factors. Their falls are diverse, because they are largely the result of external causes. - Sir John Glubb The Fate of Empires
We are at the end of the Age of Decadence heading into COLLAPSE
