The results of tonight:

For me: Everyone (thanks for backing that up, KickinIt).
Those who hate me irrationally considering I have never done anything to them: 2

Considering it is everyone against two, you two people can go ahead and hit the ignore button if it bothers you that much.

I will keep my friends updated as I continue on the path to normal and enjoying every minute of it!

Thank you all for offering your feedback. I appreciate all of it, positive and negative.

Have a happy Friday everyone!!

First of all, nobody hates you!!! You could listen to what other people are saying, though. I got criticism which was valid and changed my ways of posting and now only write about earthquakes. I do that because I respect the opinion of others!!!!

There's a lot of pain and suffering already going on everyone's daily lives, including their loved ones. I'm sure that is one of the reasons why people tend to not want to hear about every little detail.

So maybe there could be another solution, make a new thread which focuses on your healing process perhaps? The people who are silent may be of that opinion as well. Just trying to be constructive here. Sigh.

Back to quakes if that is okay.

Considering we got a 6.9 after the 3.2 in Yellowstone earlier, this latest 4.3 could spell real trouble. I guess the latest six times when Yellowstone has produced 3+, there has been at least a 6.8 elsewhere within 48 hours.

I had a vivid vision last year about Yellowstone actually erupting which coincided with two 4 pointers in Southern California and a 7.9 elsewhere. It may not have anything to do with reality but we can't deny that this year has seen a significant uptick at Yellowstone already. Last 3-4 days in particular.

I'm glad you mentioned that because I wonder the same thing. The last I looked into it there are two primary lava compartments under Yellowstone, so I could be wrong here in terms of updated information. I'm sure there's been more evidentiary evaluations since I studied it.

With the constant EQ swarms how are they affected in terms of shape, mass content per square foot, and where does the lava move to if it moves at all?

Supposedly there are also lava fingers that are of lesser size and shape and I also wonder if their configuration has also changed. I have to look around today for more intensive and current lava imaging to figure out what, if anything, is going on with the lava mass at YS.

I'm worried about these swarms even though EQ swarms have been noted in that region in the past and not much came of it, at least nothing that was released to the public. Joinca and others have published information about this and its in this thread.

My time is limited as I have my daughter and grandson arriving tomorrow for two weeks but I will take time today for some digging around.

I join you in my daily thank you to everyone who contributes.

Got family working overseas in Japan so I'm always keeping tabs on earthquake news. Found this article pretty interesting..

>50

"The researchers found a series of slow slip events on the plate interface seaward of recurring magnitude 8 earthquake areas east of Japan. These slow earthquakes lasted days to weeks, some triggered by other unconnected earthquakes in the area and some happening spontaneously. According to the researchers, this family of slow earthquakes occurred every 12 to 18 months.

"The area where these slow earthquakes take place is uncompacted, which is why it has been thought that these shallow areas near the trench act like a shock absorber, stopping deeper earthquakes from reaching the surface," said Saffer. "Instead we have discovered slow earthquakes of magnitude 5 or 6 in the region that last from days to weeks."

These earthquakes typically go unnoticed because they are so slow and very far offshore."

I agree. Yellowstone is for sure something to keep an eye on over the next 48-72 hours. I do not like that 4.5 there one bit.

I know little about the lava underground, but I know it's massive. I think it's be possible after a mild earthquake to have a breach with some lava outflow. Curious if lava has ever been reported above ground at Yellowstone before....

What I'm not seeing, and usually do daily except for the last several days, are multiple, long lists, of EQs in Mexico. I now see swarms of EQs in YS. There is no, I have to stress this no, scientific correlation made between the two but when I see so few EQs in Mexico I get nervous which is why I comment on the Mexico EQs so much.

I might have an explanation (partial). Since last year EMSC has updated it's catalog to include data directly from Mexican authorities (ie not USGS).

"Source parameters provided by:
Servicio Sismologico Nacional, Instituto de Geofísica, UNAM -- Mexico City, Mexico (UNM")

After 26th of May however, it appears that the feed has stopped updating. The only Mexico quakes now which are visible on EMSC, are from USGS.

[link to www.ssn.unam.mx] - as can be seen here, actually the 3+ quakes have continued and are numerous, they are just not updating to EMSC.

When was the last "major swarm" in Yellow?

I find one article from finnish newspaper 2009/JAN/6 stating, that they hadnt seen activity like that in more than 20 years or so. Over 500 quakes and the biggest was 3.9, in that particular swarm.

I can't remember exactly what year it was, but maybe 2013 or 2014 there was a HUGE swarm! I've personally never seen so many listed on USGS, ever. Still haven't since then (although this recent swarm would be the runner up). I know that I posted them all in this thread at the time, but I just can't remember exactly when it was. Nor can I remember if there was a larger one (4+) back then.
