I can only have one cup a day. It helps wake me up, but after that first cup, if i have another i just crash too hard later.

We do not learn from history because our studies are brief and prejudiced. In a surprising manner, 250 years emerges as the average length of national greatness. This average has not varied for 3,000years. The stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be:
The Age of Pioneers , The Age of Conquests ,The Age of Commerce ,The Age of Affluence ,The Age of Intellect ,The Age of Decadence.
Decadence is marked by: Defensiveness, Pessimism, Materialism,Frivolity An influx of foreigners The Welfare State A weakening of religion. Decadence is due to: Too long a period of wealth and power, Selfishness Love of money ,The loss of a sense of duty.
The life histories of great states are amazingly similar, and are due to internal factors. Their falls are diverse, because they are largely the result of external causes. - Sir John Glubb The Fate of Empires

Good morning everyone!

Had to order the 23andme kit on Amazon prime day deals. That was too good of a deal to pass up and mom and I were planning on doing this anyway. So I ordered two kits for the both of us.

Should be interesting at least!

I appreciate everyone's sense of humor...Nefarious.

However, I'd like to rant for just a moment...and it has nothing to do with your "humor".

A few minutes ago, I found out a family member of mine was taken to the hospital late last night. They were apparently taking 3 breaths per minute and also have severe bleeding on their brain. All of this because of fucking alcohol.

Sadly, this bullshit runs in my family. There are just a handful of people who have managed to stay away from it. I'm 28 and have tried quitting for years. I was finally able to do so about 4 months ago. This is the longest I've went without touching a drink since 2010. Only the few closest people to me know just how bad my drinking was.

I was back home last week...and I could've seen this person. But they were obviously in the middle of a binge...and I didn't want to see them like that. Wish I would've now.

Anyway, sorry for the rant...it just helped to type this all out. You're all pretty cool. grouphug

Enjoy your Friday night. And always remember to be happy and thankful for what you have.

ID...if you had been meant to see that person when you went home, you would have.

You were kept from them for a reason. Nothing happens by chance.

Never regret a bridge never crossed. It only means that your eyes were to behold another road less traveled, and the greatest treasures are usually found off the beaten path.

Much love and prayers for comfort. hugs

Sorry to hear about your family member. My dad was a major alcoholic he could go on binges and stay up drinking for days.
I was on the road to that myself started drinking at 15 heavily by the time I was 18 I pretty much quit around 24 and only due to the severe hangovers I would get the next day. I hardly ever drink now. Maybe once every 3 months or so I'll have a few and the hangover is always there to remind me of why I quit in the first place.

It's not that bad being sober, I personally prefer it now. You can have fun and actually remember the fun you had, chuckle

Congratulations on your sobriety.thumbs
Stick with it bud you'll be glad you did. If you ever feel the need to get shit off your chest drop me a PM. I'm good at keeping shit out of the front page.

cheers with a coca-cola chuckle
