After the stress test to see if there is heart disease or clogged arteries (he thinks this is likely) then they will decide how to treat the A-fib. Mine happens very often so that has to get under control before I have a stupid damned stroke!

Agreed. I'm glad you're doing what you're doing and seeing the doctors you need to see (as much as it sucks).

Stay on it my friend. Happy to see your gold star too! Hoping this means we will see you more regularly again. : )

Oklahoma is doing a lot of shaking this week...
 Quoting: Simple27

Although I understand your uneasy feeling (and agree with it), keep in mind activity in the midwest was expected due to the 2 back to back moderate quakes in/off Cali. Let's hope this will be extent of it, although I am rather surprised there hasn't been notable activity in the NMSZ region as well.

I hope so. With how I am feeling (not health related, lol), decided to start paying attention again. I pretty much unplugged from news, forums and anything for awhile. With daughter doing her thing and my health, didn't need the added stress - not that this thread caused me stress. But I didn't want the "other" kind of news.

Now, I am awake again.

I'll take the cool weather. Hopefully the PNW gets a break from the heat soon

Just got back from the doctor. I have had so many tests done in the last few months, I hate doctors.

Had a heart monitor, an echo-cardiogram (ultrasound of the heart). Because they found A-fib on the heart monitor, now I have to have another stress test and a sleep monitor at night to see how low my oxygen drops while I sleep. A-fib .... crap! Well at least I know what is happening when the there is a solar flare and my heart reacts with skipped beats.

They are still doing all kinds of weird tests on my GI tract, which is screwed up from my throat on down. Not going into details but at least I am cancer free, rofl

I had the echo, stress test, and calcium (ct) test about 6 weeks ago. Things appeared to be OK but they found that I have a cyst on my esophagus. I went back in a week later and went under general anesthesia and they drained the cyst. The results showed that it was benign. That was a relief so now the DR wants to check it again in three months. He said that I was probably born with it. You never know what they might find, but I am happy they are doing there do diligence. And here I have been worried about my 95 year old Dad that I have been helping.

Glad it was benign!! They found 16 colon polyps during upper and lower endoscopic test in March. 16 is ridiculous but they were also okay - glad I didn't wait the 2 more years I was told to come back and have it done. Esophagus has 3 large areas of inflammation and they are blaming GERD. Never had one symptom of GERD.

Taking care of aging parents is a hard hard job. Never forget to take time for yourself - just going for a walk sometimes does the world of good.
