Sounds like my kind of day! And we have very similar weather here today. : )

I'm so happy to hear that. If I had a kite I would be out there in the meadows running around like a kid, well my spine's version of it. We just planted four more plants and have clay embedded under our nails again and dirt all over our clothes, just the way we like it.

We lost the Sperry Chalet built in 1913 in Glacier Park due to the Sprague fire in the park! High winds kicked up the fire yesterday and it grew by 1000 acres, taking the chalet with it! It was one of those iconic old lodges!

Awe, sorry to hear this bigD. : (

Have they contained the fire at all?
 Quoting: Simple27

No, it is just too hard to in this terrain. Mother nature will have to put it out! Along with over20firesthat are burning in the forests of western Montana.

Strange cloud formations this morning and no electricity. The same type of formations I see before or after an earthquake hits us.
With all the rain we've been getting the last few days the land kinda starts turning to jelly.
I'm gonna make a prediction that one will hit us in the next 48 hours.

You might be right considering those factors. Plus, the other end of Central America had a sizeable one today (Costa Rica). Perhaps that might spark something at your end.

Be safe! Oh, and why is the electricity out? From storms?

Greetings everyone! Woo hoo, holiday weekend! It's been a hectic week for me. Wrapped things up at the one job, and had my last day yesterday. I don't know that I've ever felt so good about how I left a job, despite the crappy way it all went down. I got so much awesome feedback from people - brought tears to my eyes a few times. And I got flowers!

Had an interview today for a job I'm super excited about. It's a big bump in responsibility which is exactly what I've wanted. I also am familiar with this agency, as I worked with some of their people in the past when they were under another umbrella, before they struck out on their own. They have a young-ish, motivated leader who is taking them places and they are growing quickly. This position is new and would start out P/T until they secure the funding to make it F/T. I'm fine with that, because at this point with the sudden job loss I'm more concerned about filling that void. If it eventually goes F/T, then that's even better! I got a really good vibe from the group and the team of people I'd be working with/supervising. I think they are all really committed to the mission and people they serve. I wasn't home 10 minutes and the Ex. Dir. emailed me asking me to send him some references. I should know more next week! Happening fast!

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend! I don't have big plans but am looking forward to doing a lot of eating, drinking, hanging out. There's also a blues festival here this weekend I am thinking about checking out on Saturday.

Thank you! I was also thinking about the eclipse - sudden, difficult endings but eventually new beginnings. The interesting thing is, I saw this job posted in mid July. Debated applying since it said it was only P/T (there was no indication in the posting it would eventually go F/T). I ultimately determined it didn't make sense to leave one of my jobs for another P/T when I need F/T work with benefits. Then when I lost my one job I called someone I know at this place to see if they were still taking applicants, and one thing led to another. I found out they interviewed a number of good people, but the team agreed none felt like the right match. Otherwise, this position should've been filled by now. It sorta feels like the timing and everything is working out right :)
