Holy shit!

5 months...2 separate shark attacks...

Damn! Survivors!
 Quoting: Simple27

I know! That's a long ass time! I'd be scared SHITLESS. I'm a wimp, I fully admit it. And we've already discussed our fear of large bodies of water. I don't care if I'm in it or on it. If I were in the middle of nowhere on the ocean and couldn't see any land for months, I'd go nutso.
 Quoting: KickinIt

Exactly this!

I'm pretty sure I would've had a heart attack when 7 sharks surrounded the boat.

Every night when it is just completely pitch black wondering what is in that water right under you. Can't see anything.

5 months sure is a long time when you're trapped on a boat in the middle of the ocean, not knowing if you will ever be rescued.

Fuck that.
 Quoting: Simple27

Oh god yeah, the sharks. Jaws shaped my childhood for god's sake.

Have you ever flown over the ocean? That's scary as fuck too. Just blackness. And I don't have a fear of flying - it's the ocean thing that bugs me.

they are the 2 stupidest people on earth, their reaso for drifting is because their engine died....What about the sails...why not use them?
 Quoting: ~4:20~

Sounds like things were damaged in a storm...

The pair left Hawaii on May 3 on the Sea Nymph, bound for Tahiti, about 2,600 miles way. They ran into trouble on May 30 when bad weather flooded the engine with water, Appel said. The women decided to keep sailing, but strayed off course, according to the Navy.

The ship's mast was also damaged, compromising the structural integrity, and limiting the Sea Nymph's capabilities to maneuver, Appel said in the call, obtained through CNN affiliate KHNL/KGMB.

Then the ship lost its communications capabilities.

The sailboat was deemed unseaworthy and is currently drifting out at sea, a Navy spokesman said during the call from the Ashland.

BS they were stupid. If they were stupid, they wouldn't have survived that 5 months out at sea.

She came home from Canada sick and now has double pneumonia.

Me? I have really crappy lungs and don't need this at all or I will end up in the hospital 100% guaranteed!

Oh no, poor Mandy! That's kinda scary. Penumonia is serious. Hoping she gets better soon and I sure as hell hope you don't get it!

Did she enjoy her trip, or was she sick some of the time there?
 Quoting: KickinIt

Just the last two days there. She had a great time!! She hopes to go back in June (we'll see if she can save the money up for that, lol).

Last time I was in the hospital it started like this, her getting it and then me. Have had pneumonia more times than I can count and my lungs are scarred up.
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

Go get the mega air filter for your central air system (if you have one, be it AC, heat, or both) that filters virus particles as well. Portable True HEPA filters will help too. The clean air will help the stressed lungs and help prevent spreading germs. Wipe down every surface she touches with a vinegar/water solution (a natural cleaner that won't irritate or cause other problems). Take extra vitamins C, D, and B-12. Finally, hydrate a lot. Staying properly hydrated can break up mucus that would otherwise make pneumonia worse.

Addendum: DO NOT get True HEPA filters with ionizers on them unless they can be turned off. (never run it with it on.) It can create ozone which will irritate the lungs.
Quoting: a Dude, not THE Dude

Thanks Dude - doing most of that but hadn't thought about a hepa filter. I have been giving her Vit B12 and forgot it for myself, lol. Sheeesh I must be getting old
