OH yeah. I can only imagine how awesome our group conversations would be in person.

We'd be eating some of WA's cranberry bread about right now, having a sunday block party. I'd bring the beer bong.

Sheesh, you aren't lying WA, that's cold. Was close to 0 with the wind chill here in NOVA last week.

Just looked for my Christmas day weather annnnddddd

They are saying close to 60 degrees with rain here. Honestly, may be the warmest Christmas day ever for my tenure here on earth.
Quoting: Master of Nothing

:owlwhoa:

Hmmm, just checked mine and it says 34 as a high Xmas eve, with a low of 21 and light FREEZING RAIN that night, which is NOT GOOD. Xmas day it's a high of 33 and low of 15. Says nothing about snow. The weather channel is usually wrong, so I'm choosing not to believe in this forecast.
Quoting: KickinIt

Yeah. Noone dreams of a freezing rain Christmas! Not only is the weather channel usually wrong, they have become worse over the years. Especially forecasting 10 days out

I figured we would have that here too until Alaska had that record breaking LOW and then I knew it would get very cold here. By the way for those doing Celsius, my -12F is -24C.

The front range area of Colorado has been breaking all kinds of highs since November. Now the arctic express will make it's appearance.

Glad you saw them old friends!

Dayumm 4 pounds of chocolate. Kinda cookies you makin lady?

Here's my family's secret, awesome, "cookie truffle" recipe my mom stole off the internet.

Blend a box of oreos. Once fine crushed, by hand mix them with a 8 ounce package of cream cheese. Roll them into tiny ballsacks. Melt some of that cooking chocolate and dip the balls real deeplike into the melted chocolate. Put on parchment paper then into the fridge. Easy - and delicious. A family favorite for years now.

Sorry for the graphic food porn recipe, i couldn't help myself.

:jacklaught:

Weekend was okay. Just laid up icing and elevating the ankle. Sore and stiff but the swelling has gone down. Gonna boot up and go to work tomorrow - probably should stay off it longer but i'm broker than an old VCR and need the money.
Quoting: Master of Nothing

I am making that as soon as hubby gets back from store. He saw this recipe:
[link to www.twotwentyone.net (secure)]

And asked me to make some and of course I couldn't say no!!! Getting ready to crush some candy canes to sprinkle on top. I was just going to melt some Candy Melts but he wanted white chocolate.

Saved that recipe! I want some too! : )

I do that all the time Isis and throw in a small box of pudding that matched the cake flavor. Helps to dense up the cake a little. Not fond of the overly fluffy cakes.

I detest the taste of beer so I can honestly say I have never done this. Made a mistake in my younger days and drank two big bottles of Taylor white wine and still wasn't drunk, so drank a 12 pack of Mikelob. I have never been so sick in all my life. I think I puked my toes up - just the smell of beer and the old gag reflex kicks in.

It was horrible. The damage done to cars was awful. It had been cold for awhile before those temps happened and everyone was rushing to buy engine heaters. Even with those, many had cracked engine blocks. No school as most lost power.

Well this is interesting. Dutch saying that there might be volcano action off the coast of Cali. That might explain the activity. Start it around 3:00 and go from there to see why he's saying this. This video was posted 2 days ago, so the activity he saw that he's questioning took place the day before (10th).

Quoting: KickinIt

I posted the above on 12/13. Below is a new video posted yesterday. I didn't watch it all myself, but the first 4 min. or so gets to the point- a box of lava rocks that a viewer sent him, found onshore near Eureka, CA. It is surmised this is related to the volcano activity he noted in the first video. And, in the comments from this new vid., I saw this:

Nice work Debbie and Ron M. going over to the coast and finding those lava rocks on the beach near Orick!! and then sending them to Dutch. As you probably know they where having a series of loud "booms" around Eureka/Arcata last week. Right during the period Dutch found the volcanic plume right off the coast from Eureka >>><<<

At the time I didn't metabolize liquor right, so I was sober. No cheap drunk here. It would hit later and it would hit hard because I consumed so much that it would be close to alcohol poisoning which I did have once. Was told not to drink. lol
