No shit, same here. Lol!
Quoting: Simple27 Lol. They didn't have any planned rituals because it was rather impromptu, but this one gal came prepared with a small brown bag of actual stuff to burn! She said there was a shirt, a book, some dried flowers - all with bad mojo and she was bound and determined to watch it burn until it was gone. And she did, and she took video of it! She left a bit before me and said she felt cleansed. I told my story about losing my job right after a solstice party, and everyone got a kick out of that. Quoting: KickinIt I could totally hang out with that girl! Hmmmm, maybe I should burn some shit tonight. Quoting: Simple27 It's fun to burn stuff! I just love fires. I could sit and stare at a fire and listen to it crackle all night long. My only issue with a bonfire though, is coming home smelling like bonfire. I lived through a house fire in my early 20s, and the stuff that survived smelled like fire pit for nearly a year. That really sucked ass, and the smell sort of turns my stomach now. Quoting: KickinIt I like burning things too :crazyface4: :highdolphin: Hahaha Edit: and because of burning things I didn't even read everything properly That's crazy you were in a house fire what happened?!?! |

I think it was last Christmas time, maybe two years ago. I had a non upgraded account - signed up for the free membership giveaway and won! And it was then when I first posted in this thread expressing my gratitude for the diligent quake updating from everyone.
Time flies huh

Let's see if I can dig up that Christmas post I made in the past. I also randomly searched for older threads I made. Quoting: Master of Nothing haha, good one! Regarding the house fire, it got struck by lightning. My childhood home. I had just moved back to STL and I was living at home. Sucked ass. We had to move into an apartment for maybe 7-8 months until we could go back into the house. Lost a fair amount of stuff, but thankfully all the important stuff made it through, including my lifetime of pictures (which I always took a lot of, and are very important to me), and all my albums! Which I still have and play regularly. I have a great record collection. |

Quoting: KickinIt Holy crap. Being in a fire is one of my biggest fears. Quoting: Simple27 I should add that I wasn't home at the time. My mom was. The lightning struck the main electrical wire going into the house, and she said it was like a bomb went off. And then sparks came down the chimney in the room where she was sitting. She ran to an upstairs bedroom to see if she could see anything, and in that split second before she went back down the house was filling with smoke. She ran to the neighbors and then they called 911. She got out quickly and was never in any danger. I got home and was a complete mess. Mom was strong, of course. |

Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated*5.5 Afghanistan ~ Pg 20354 Happy solstice everyone! I actually have a solstice party to go to tonight. I'm really not in the mood, only because I had a rough day today at work after a super shitty night of sleep last night. I'm exhausted! But at least they are starting early at 6, so I'm going for an hour or so to deliver them some cookies, have a beer, and hopefully take part in some solstice rituals to rid my life of any negativity!
Fun fact: At one summer solstice party years ago, we did the ritual and all wrote down the negative things we wanted to eliminate from our lives (for summer, you wrap that paper with various herbs, tie it up in a little packet or sorts, then bury it. For winter, you burn the list in a bonfire). Well, the first thing I wrote down was to rid my life of dysfunctional work environments. Ended up losing my job 2 weeks later! Lesson learned: be very specific in how you word things for these kind of situations :)
