Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15632521 Where is the 7.2? I don't see it on any of the earthquake sites. Quoting: CuriousSeeker google "earthquake", should be the first thing to pop up. it's also trending on twitter. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15632521 That's the one from the 16th. There is nothing new showing up for the past few hours. |

Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated*5.5 Afghanistan ~ Pg 20354 I have an URGENT prayer request please!! My best friend's boyfriend of many years, who is also the father of their 2 young children, is in the ICU right now with septic shock. : ( He has a weakened immune system because something is wrong with his liver and had flu-type symptoms a few times this past week, but now I'm not so sure it was the flu. I think it was leading up to today. She first texted saying that he had been admitted to the hospital. She said he was throwing up earlier and even shit himself. He turned very white, then yellow and his eyes were "bloody" and rolling into the back of his head. She said she had to physically carry him to the wheelchair at the hospital because he couldn't walk. She had their 2 young ones with her so she had to leave the hospital because her 6 year old girl was freaking out seeing her dad like that. Fast forward an hour and a half...she called me crying. Said she called the hospital to check on him because he wasn't responding to her calls/texts. They told her he was being moved to ICU and that he was septic and his organs were shutting down. They mentioned possible cancer. I saw online that the mortality rate of septic shock is 50%. : ( Please pray for him. His name is Steve. They have a 3 year old boy and a 6 year old girl. Her and I have been best friends since we were 13 years old. I'm waiting on the next update. Quoting: Simple27 Quoting: Simple27 Oh my, that's so scary! This increase in sepsis is really frightening. All of my love and positive energy goes out to you and your friend. She must be scared out of her mind. And those sweet little ones of theirs - they need their father! Please let him fight this! |

A little over a year ago I lost my Mom to pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed in July and she was gone just after my Dads birthday in October. Later the next year in June my Dad became sick with massive chills every 8-9 hours and the urgent care said angina and sent him home. The next day the ambulance had to be called and we went to the ER. There the nurse very first thing said that he was sepsis. He was transferred across the ER to the ICU where he was stabilized. It was a UTI. After 7 days in the hospital and then 2 weeks in skilled nursing on IV antibiotics he was OK. Although his blood work showed that he had a heart attack in the hospital. It was a VERY close call. Best wishes and prayers sent. Quoting: joinca I remember all of this Jo. You have gone through a lot. My beloved, favorite uncle just got out of the hospital. He's 91 and it ends up he had a bad UTI and pneumonia! They also said he has congestive heart failure. He's was already somewhat frail due to his age, and laying up in that hospital bed caused further weakness and atrophy, and he still has stuff in his lungs. Physical therapy has helped him a bit, but not enough. He's restricted on food now because he's having trouble swallowing. They don't think he'll last more than a month. I'm not ready to say goodbye to him yet. This one is going to be really hard. I need to find the strength to go see him in the next weekend or two (he's not in STL). |

Quoting: ~Jazzy~ After all of that he had 90% blockage and a stent put in the first day of July. Now after 6 months he can get off of the plavix and we are getting him ready for hip replacement in a couple of weeks. My Mom was 88 and my Dad is 96. Says his skin is cold and his legs are turning purplish. Said she's getting really scared. Quoting: Simple27 His blood pressure is low. That's why they're having trouble with his veins. His legs are purplish because of blood flow and depleted oxygen. The intubation will help pink them back up again, but it will take some time. The next few hours are critical. Let the doctors work and pray. Quoting: ~Jazzy~ Thank you Jazzy. Truly, I really appreciate the information you're sharing based on personal experience.
