Report from our #ChefsForHawaii Food First Responders: Lava is at the geothermal power plant...officials may evacuate 10 miles out. Our kitchen is 1.5 miles from plant so backup kitchen being established. @WCKitchen will continue to support evacuees with fresh meals + gas masks!

A 10 mile buffer would be a sizeable chunk of the island.
Ten mile buffer is quite the safety distance, expecting something big? Large rocks going a long way?

Good morning to all!!!! hi

I feel like I have a hangover. Ugh! Car buying is stressful. Had to go out and look at it LOL. First-world problems :P

How is everyone?
 Quoting: CuriousSeeker

Good mornin'.

It is stressful buying a car. Not sure why, because they do everything for you there at the dealership, it's really just signing a bunch of paperwork. I think must be the stress of a major purchase that takes a toll.

Good thing you don't live here, because we had a hail storm at about 3am out of nowhere that got me out of bed. There was no chance of rain at all, so when I heard hail pounding on my windows I was like WTF? I got up to look outside and rain was literally blowing sideways in sheets. Turned on my phone and pulled up the radar to see where this weather was coming from, and there was nothing anywhere in or near MO or surrounding states - except for one very small but powerful blob of red/orange right over STL. With quarter size hail, lightning and thunder, and gusty winds. Literally developed out of nowhere overnight, long after the heat of the day had subsided, and it came from the north, which is very odd. There was also weirdness on the radar, which I was too sleepy to even think about getting a screenshot of. Tell me that storm wasn't geoengineered.

Anyway, point of this overly long story is I was freaked out about my car out there in the hail! I don't have a garage and I just looked at it from the window feeling helpless. I still haven't gone outside to check her out up close. Looks ok from here, but I wouldn't be surprised if I got some dings last night.

Hope you have a good day! It feels so good knowing I have another day off tomorrow (sorry Simple).
 Quoting: KickinIt

LOL

Enjoy your extra day off everyone! Just always remember why we (well you all) have tomorrow off. : )

I hope your car has no dings Kickin! Scary sounding storm!

And CS, I do hope you've gone for a nice long joy ride in your new toy!

 Quoting: Simple27

My car had no dings! Maybe a couple on the roof, but very faint and not noticeable - I had to really look for them. I'm really shocked, it was confirmed we had quarter size hail.

Sorry I haven’t been around much. We are trying to fix some major decisions and changes in our lives. One of the beers, we are most likely going to move to Texas. When this happens I don’t know. But knowing us will be in a few months. My daughter is not happy here we live. In Texas we have family and friends we’re here we don’t have hardly anyone. My husband has one good friend while I have no one. My son had friends from school but nobody where we live. My daughter has a couple of so-called friends, nobody that she would mind leaving.

This of course would be a major move and we have a lot to think about. Just being closer to my family and his family that are in Texas would be a big deal. I would finally get to meet my sister also and she does not live that far from where we are planning on moving. It would be Garland area which is east of Dallas. She lives slightly south of Fort Worth.

I said I would never move back to Texas because I’m allergic to the whole state. I’m allergic to everything here so what the heck. It is hotter there by 10°. We get 100 here and hide 90s all the time. Dallas gets hundred to 110. I wouldn’t see snow anymore that would be my only major regret.

I am actually very excited and looking forward to a life change.

Just catching up on GLP...sorry I missed this, WA!! Sounds like this could be a great, fun thing and sounds like your daughter would enjoy it as well as all of you.

Have you thought about California at least, if you're not allergic to anything? Although I am well aware of the doomage as of late, you have to admit that Californians have been saying this for years.

This humidity sucks. Mid to late autumn is my favorite time. Where you continue wearing shorts, questionably, but it's getting chilly enough to wear pants, then you wait till it's too damn cold, try and find the pants, realizing you've lost them and just rock shorts and sweaters into the winter till maybe your family buys you some sweatpants for Christmas or something.

I should probably go buy some jeans for this next winter

Fall is damn pretty here in VA. For sure, love it. My pops and step mom are at the lake this weekend. She has reptilian DNA and keeps the thermostat at 75. I currently have it set at 63 lol. And still only in boxers. Every morning I've been waking up the windows are all foggy due to cold air condensation. Lol too funny

I love sleeping in a cold ass room with a few blankets. Leaving a leg out until it's too cold, then switching legs or feet from under the covers and then in the cold. Hahah

If the poles flip and were forced to love in igloos or something I think we would both be just fine

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated*5.5 Afghanistan ~ Pg 20354
Good evening all! Haven't been on much - a few quick times to see what's going on. So much from all of you - new cars, storms, big moves, hot yard work, health issues... but everybody still around! I love coming here to see how everyone is!

Had a busy but blessed week! Grandson & fiance had their beautiful baby girl last Tuesday. Miss Sadie Grace has blessed us with her presence, and this great-grandma is grateful and proud!!! I took care of her last night while mom caught up on some sleep. I'd forgotten how hard those every-2-hour feedings are!!! verysad But she's a good baby - not fussy or cranky (like me, being so sleepy!)

Simple, I understand about tomorrow. I have to work, too, but I almost don't mind. I work at a cemetery, and we spent several hours yesterday putting out American flags on the graves of veterans. Tomorrow we will be grilling hotdogs to give away to families coming to the cemetery, and at 3 we are having a program to recognize veterans that have passed in the last 12 months. So I kind of don't mind working. Kind of.

We are under heat warnings here. It was 105 today, and over the next 15 days, the lowest high forecast is 104. There are 5 days of 110 or 111, and even a 113!!! Pushing the AC to the max!! I worry about my family - they all work out in the oil field, so will be out in the heat every day.

Thank all of you for the current updates on everything - the EQs, volcano, flooding...all of it. Will add that the weather channel just said that the flooding around Baltimore was from rainstorms that were producing 5" of rain per hour. That's horrible!! And the storm in Oman produced 2 years' of rainfall in 24 hours! We need rain badly, but I'll pass on those kind of numbers!!!

sorry for the wall of text - but I'm about to go find my bed. Don't care that the sun isn't even down! This ole lady just can't do without her 8 - 9 hrs a night!!! I'd call it beauty sleep, but don't want to lie to you!! lol

I'll get back here in a day or two to check in! Hope all of you that have a holiday enjoy your holiday! And hope the catastrophic stuff slows down!!!

Much love to all of you! Have a good week!!
