I just searched the number of quakes that Mexico has had since the 7.2 on the 18th.

Between that quake and today's quake there has only been a handful of quakes and that includes the 1's and 2's.

All the other massive quakes are having hundreds of aftershocks.

Except for Mexico and that 6+ quake in Nicaragua. These quakes are not shivering and wobbling for weeks afterwards like the others. Something weird is going down - maybe a locked tight faultline?

That is the question, isn't it? :)

Looks rather magmatic origin. Quite deep. 15km deep.
Earthquakes in SISZ have been known to trigger earthquakes in Reykjanes, but usually it´s only with the large ones, not small ones like yesterday´s event. More like 6.5 quake in 2000 triggered a 4.5 in Reykjanes just 5min later, if I am not wrong.
